Make a holiday rental homes or holiday cottages in Lincolnshire your home away from home

Lincolnshire is a county in the East of England that borders Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Rutland, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Yorkshire and nineteen metres of Northamptonshire! The county town is the city of Lincoln and other towns of significance include Grantham, Grimsby, Boston, Scunthorpe, Spalding, Stamford and Skegness.

Places to holiday in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire's coastal resorts and Wolds towns are popular holiday destinations and attract many families and surfers each year, which means there are numerous hotels and guest houses. These can work out expensive for a family and are somewhat restrictive on your planning, but staying in self-catering accommodation allows you the freedom to explore.

Holiday cottages in Skegness give you access to this popular resort as well as the neighbouring resorts of Chapel St Leonard's, Ingoldmells and Mablethorpe with their wide-ranging beaches, leisure activities and amusements. Caravan sites are popular on the Lincolnshire coast but they do not have that home from home feel that Lincolnshire seaside cottages have and space is more limited.

Fen's cottages close to Theddlethorpe nature reserve, Saltfleetby, Donna Nook and Gibraltar Point are popular with those interested in birdwatching and wildlife. Market town and country cottages in the Lincolnshire Wolds are popular with cyclists and walkers, especially twice a year at times of the Walking Festival. Grimsby, Lincoln and Hull have significant shopping facilities and are convenient from a holiday cottage.

Things to do in Lincolnshire

There are several annual festivals and events that draw holidaymakers to Lincolnshire including the Agricultural Show, which takes place the last week in June. The Grange de Lings showground is also used throughout the year for a variety of functions and events. RAF Waddington Air Show is another popular attraction at the end of June and an annual Scarecrow Festival is held in May each year in the villages of Salmonby and Tetford.

Other interesting events include the Corby Glen sheep fair, the Haxey Hood village competition in January, the Spalding Flower Parade in the Spring, Stamford Mid- Lent fair and the Lincoln Christmas Market. Museums well worth visit include the Church Farm Museum and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. Stamford Museum has fascinating local collections and the unique Stamford Tapestry. Grantham Museum has wonderful displays of social history and archaeology.

There is no end of exciting things to do in Lincolnshire, whatever your interests may be. There are historic buildings including abbeys, churches, castles and there are family fun parks, farm attractions, nature reserves, local antique fairs and food festivals. The area has some exquisite gardens at Doddington Hall, Belton Park, Normanby Hall Country Park, Grimsthorpe Castle and Easton's walled garden. Lincoln city has guided tours to suit all tastes, such as macabre past, pubs, aviation, hidden gems, arboretum and Guildhall tours.

Amazing as always

We are regular visitors to Corbière and we always look forward to going - it's a real home from home and a fantastic place to stay with young children. It's also ideally located for visiting all the local beaches and amenities. The bungalow is always spotless and very homely.
