This stunning house is situated overlooking Loch Ewe and has the most amazing views all around. It is a spacious house decorated to an extremely high standard and is so very well equipped. You will feel guilty leaving the house to visit the many nearby beautiful beaches and walks but at least you will have the knowledge of what awaits you upon your return. Stormy days give you a great excuse to stay in, to light the open fire in the living room and watch the squalls come across the Loch. It’s so comfortable with its numerous sofas. The kitchen and dining area is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. there are never arguments over the washing up because of the views and the chances of seeing the otters or the sea eagle that visited every day. There is a large fully equipped utility room next to the kitchen which doubles as a great drying room. Upstairs the master bedroom is fantastic, lots of space, views to die for and great en suite with walk in shower and under floor heating. It also has a walk in wardrobe and finally an extremely comfortable bed. There are three other very decent sized bedrooms two of which look out over the Loch. There is a large family bathroom again with walk in shower and bath. All beautifully decorated to a high standard and very comfortable.
Honestly I can not recommend Shore Croft highly enough. We have stayed in cottages throughout the UK and can easily say that Shore Croft is the best of them all. This was our 5th visit - our 6th is already being planned.
Firstly, I would like to say that if we had stayed in the summer I am sure we would have given the cottage five stars. It was just as described, with everything one could want for a wonderful stay: incredible views, beautiful beaches, great walks. We were warned that there was little or no Internet access, and it's surprising how one can survive!
However, the cottage only has one smallish sitting room which was fine for two people but I suspect it would not be so good for six people in winter. Also we had problems getting warm the first few nights as the house had obviously been empty for a while.
If coming in winter be warned - bring your own matches, firelighters, kindling and logs to get the fire started.
And the local shop is closed on Sundays so (if arriving on Saturday evening) bring EVERYTHING you need till Monday morning unless you want to drive to Gairloch on Sunday. The cottage is remote.
But we enjoyed our stay.
