  • We both felt very much at home in the cottage.

The cottage is well-situated, in a quiet location which is close to the main road through Dumfries and Galloway - so it is easy to reach other places to shop and explore. We found it comfortable: good beds, and a lovely sunny sitting area. Facilities are good. What more could we ask?

  • Where better for a 50th Birthday Celebration
    5 of 5

This was not my first visit to Orroland, so I was absolutely sure this was the best place to celebrate with friends and family - 10 humans in total and 4 dogs. Orroland is a great place to both chill out and explore the Dumfries area. The feel of the house is so homely, which creates a great atmosphere. Everyone just mucking in, creating fabulous meals in the kitchen, dining in such a lovely room, and chilling around the open fire is just perfect. If you need a bit of quiet time to yourself, that's easy, as the walls are so thick, you can soon find a quiet corner! The house is very well kitted out, from kitchen equipment to books to read. Even the first storm of the year hit us! We expected, and had a power cut, which was no problem as the generator kicked in. To watch the wild sea, and the trees bending in the wind was quite something! Orroland is truly a magical place; I know we will return in the future - yet again.
