Make a holiday home or holiday cottage in Kent your home away from home

Kent, the ‘garden of England’, is located in the South East of England, consisting of an exhilarating coastline, open unspoilt countryside and some of the oldest and most important cities and towns in England. If you are looking for self catering holiday accommodation in Kent, you are probably aware of much of what is on offer in England’s oldest county.

Things to do on holiday in Kent

Much of England’s history is centred around Kent, with Julius Caesar, William the Conqueror and Napoleon all landing at some point on the shores of the Kent Coastline. This has left Kent with the most impressive and stately castles, grand houses and fascinating historic monuments in England. Canterbury Cathedral, Dover Castle and Penshurst Palace are amongst a few of the most notable places of interest to explore from a Kent holiday cottage.

The coastline, upon which much of the self catering holiday accommodation in Kent is found, is a haven for water sports. Kite surfing has risen to new levels as a sport in Kent, especially around Whitstable and Ramsgate, and surfers flock to Kent holiday cottages in Joss Bay. There are plentiful sailing waters, and jet skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing and sailing courses available from a Kent holiday cottage along the coast. The seal colonies at Herne Bay and the RSPB Nature Reserve in Dungeness are great places to visit on a family holiday to Kent.

Walking and cycling holidays are a spectacular way to discover the many treasures available from a Kent holiday cottage. Walking along the infamous White Cliffs of Dover or through a bluebell carpeted wood fills you with an enormous sense of wellbeing, and lets you return to a holiday home in Kent feeling great. Kent also has 90 public golf courses, so those of you yearning for a round from your self catering holiday accommodation in Kent need not worry; you can undoubtedly find a course, if you can find the time!

There are some great ideas for family holidays to Kent. The sandy beaches and captivating castles of Kent are backed up by charming wildlife parks, Diggerland and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

We stayed for a great week in the small but lovingly furnished Hop Bine Studio. Waters End Farm lies in a wonderful surrounding. Starting point for long walks or just to roam around the beautiful farm. The dog was very happy about his own garden and a lake to swim. Jill and Maurice are fantastic hosts. We felt very well there. Sure we´ll come back. Inge and Peter

It was a perfect weekend, the oast is in the heart of the Kent countryside, it is very comfortable, spacious, beautifully maintained, pretty garden and we were spoilt with goodies. Would love to return for a longer stay. Thank you Amanda for all your help during our stay, much appreciated.

                                                      Idyllic

                                                      5 of 5
This place was beautiful, quite quirky and so private and away from everything. We wanted accommodation where the whole family could be together for a few nights. So there we were – ages 6 months to 94 and it was wonderful. We only travelled half an hour to get there but it didn’t matter – we were lucky with the weather, swam in the lake and barbecued and played games in the garden. The two cottages had everything we needed and apart from one drive out to go and look at the animals and have a cream tea at Badgers Hill Farm, we stayed put and relaxed. The hen and cockerel wandered into the garden to see us every day, and the horses came up to the garden fence to be petted. Being relatively local we had no need to dash around visting places! We had a Tesco delivery on the evening we arrived, and the newsagents and the Barn Shop were within walking distance for any bits we had forgotten. It was a shame that Nigel and Wendy were away on holiday themselves so we didn't get to thank them personally, (we had met them when we popped down to look before we originally booked) but we were well looked after by Tina and Ian. We would really recommend the cottages.
