We travel all over the country competing with our pooches and this cottage is the best we have stayed in. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and is immaculate with every little detail considered. It is well equipped and more like a home than a rental. The thing that sets it apart is the welcome. Gail and Adrian are natural genuine hosts and manage to offer everything you need when you need it whilst leaving you to enjoy the cottage. The little personal touches were lovely and immediately made us feel welcome. Having stayed in multiple 'dog friendly' cottages I can honestly say this is the only one so far that genuinely has been. A lovely welcome pack for the boys but more importantly we were trusted and did not feel that we were being supervised for our behaviour! The walking was also excellent so we had four very relaxed dogs and two relaxed happy owners. We will be back!

  • Comfortable, well equipped cottage in central location.

This is a delightful cottage set in a courtyard with lovely views out over fields of sheep and a secluded garden. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. My only suggestion would be a grab rail in the downstairs toilet. The reason I chose this cottage was because it had a downstairs bedroom and bathroom and wheelchair access from the front door. I was here with my disabled mum and a grab rail would have made life a bit easier, but this was a minor feature. The location is good. The lovely town of Melrose is only a few miles away. Jedburgh, Galashiels and Kelso are well worth a visit and there are lovely walk along the River Tweed. There is a small supermarket in St Boswell’s and a large Co-op in Melrose so self catering is easy. I would recommend a stay here to anyone wanting a peaceful country break.
