  • Immaculate cosy little cottage!
    5 of 5

Just got home from our stay at this beautiful cottage right in the centre of Holmfirth. There is everything you need here and the cottage was immaculately clean as if no one has ever stayed! A few treats for our dog and fresh flowers were waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage is modern inside with a nice large bedroom looking over the stream, look out for the ducks each morning and local Heron each night! The bathroom is lovely too, there is a utility area with washing machine and ironing board plus iron to use if required. The outside area is small but a table for 2 and chairs were perfect for us to enjoy our cooked breakfast at in the morning sunshine! The front area is also a walkway for other residents, this annoyed our nosey little dog who growled at them through the living room window as they walked by every so often but it wasn’t a problem for us, people were very friendly. The owner Kathy was very helpful and kept in touch throughout our week to make sure we were happy with our stay, which was nice. The cottage is in the centre right next to the Last of the Summer Wine exhibition and Nora Battys steps. We had a lovely 5 days exploring the town and other places nearby. We visited Delph, Meltham, Slaithwaite, Marsden and Standedge Tunnel, and a few reservoirs! Was a lovely relaxed week. Can recommend Harvey’s Bar and Kitchen the food was amazing there, also Oscars was nice. Lots of places for drinks and food, busier on the Friday / Saturday. We will be visiting again for definate such a lovely place to escape to for some peace and chill out time! Thank you for a lovely place to stay.

From the time you arrive your made to feel welcome from the owners Paul and Gill the property is clean and tidy with fantastic views and it’s very quiet. Paul has a great knowledge of the area and local walks . Both Paul and Gill are around in the background should you require help. So remember to put your waking boots in the car , I walk around 10 miles a day and the abundance of pathways would have kept me happy may be next time thank you both for your assistance during our stay.
