Make holiday rental accommodation or a holiday cottage in Snowdonia & Gwynedd in Wales your home away from home

The Welsh county of Gwynedd is the most north western county of Wales, bordering the Irish Sea, just below Anglesey. Known primarily for having the beautiful Snowdonia National Park at its heart, Gwynedd consists of an enchanting landscape of mist covered mountains, cascading rivers and wild moor land fringed by thick forests, and guarded by fairytale castles. Once you have taken a holiday cottage in Snowdonia or Gwynedd, tasted the lifestyle and experienced the relaxing pace of life, magnificent scenery and glorious sandy beaches, you will be tempted to return year after year.

Things to do in Gwynedd-Snowdonia, Wales

The Snowdonia National Park is one of the most breathtaking places in Britain. Taking a self catering holiday cottage or even a log cabin in Snowdonia lets you explore the largest mountains in England and Wales, as well as the beautiful beaches of the Cambrian Coast. The wooded valleys, wild moors, peaceful lakes and long mountain ridges make the perfect setting for walking and cycling. There are marked cycle routes through much of the Snowdonia National Park, and sailing on one of the magnificent mountain lakes is an ideal way to let the stress simply wash from your body. Snowdonia walk, riding and cycle trail information can be found at the many Snowdonia tourist information offices located around the park’s perimeter, and there are plenty of excellent Gwynedd public houses in which to retreat to after a hard day in the hills.

Although Gwynedd doesn’t instantly spring to mind as a beach holiday destination but it is exactly that. The whole of the Cambrian Coast is lined with golden sand, and during the summer, resorts like Barmouth become awash with holiday makers, many of whom are staying in Snowdonia accommodation, just a few miles away. Alternatively, if you rent a self catering holiday cottage in Snowdonia National Park, the windswept, secluded beaches of Porth Neigwl are within easy range.

Gwynedd golf has become a major business, with 19 full 18 hole golf courses dotted around the county, mainly on the coastal stretches. There is a choice between old, classic golf courses and the new, luxury Gwynedd golf courses which have recently appeared. Either way, if you are staying in Gwynedd or Snowdonia accommodation, you can certainly get a round in!
