Spacious Comfortable House

4 of 5
We chose this house for our family celebration. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We had our grandson with us and the highchair and cot were very useful. The furniture was tasteful and the master bedroom had a beautiful view. The rooftop terrace was the cherry on the cake. We spent many hours there admiring the view of the Lake. The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful cul de sac but the position of the house is very handy for all amenities in Bowness. The garden is secluded with lovely trees and plants. If towels had been provided it would have been useful because of the number of us staying there. The use of the local hotel swimming pool was expensive, especially as pur 5 month old grandson wouldn't have stayed in for long. I think that details about this amenity should have been stated much more clearly in the house description.

Tranquility at it's best!

5 of 5
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Thirlmere Lodge. I can't fault the Lodge at all. It is in a great location on the site and has everything that you may need for your stay. The lodge has been well looked after and all furnishings are of a high standard. Ambleside is only a few minutes by car and there are a number of walks leaving straight from the site itself. There is a small pool on site which is just behind the lodge but you don't hear any noise from this so don't worry. It was a perfect way to soothe your aching muscles after a long walk. You can walk to the Skelwith Bridge hotel, within minutes, down the slope just to the right of the cabin. All in all a fabulous Base and would highly recommend to anyone.
