Make a holiday rental property or accommodation in Glasgow & the Clyde Valley your home away from home

Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city, and with three universities, there is a wonderfully vibrant, youthful atmosphere, which has produced many of the countries favourite performers. However, just a little outside the famous city lies a blissfully peaceful, stunningly picturesque region of green hills and cascading waterfalls; the Clyde Valley. The walking in the Clyde Valley offers a fantastic contrast to the fast paced excitement of life in Glasgow accommodation, allowing you to switch between the most beautiful of Scottish landscapes to the most vibrant of Scottish cities in a matter of minutes.

Things to do in Glasgow & the Clyde Valley, Scotland

A trip to Glasgow shopping is a fantastic experience. Shopping in Glasgow has become a real attraction, with the world class shopping streets of Argyll Street, Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street bringing Glasgow to be the UK’s second largest shopping centre after London. There is a vast amount to do in the city of Glasgow, and there is always plenty going on during the evening. The Glasgow nightlife is exceptional, whether you enjoy an evening at the theatre, concerts in the elaborate Glasgow Concert Hall or a night in the endless bars and clubs that can be found throughout the city. You shall never want for entertainment whilst staying in Glasgow accommodation.

The Clyde Valley is a magnificent place to escape it all. Just moments from Glasgow accommodation, the Clyde Valley is a beautiful region, steeped in history and awash with view points that will make even the most blasé of visitors reach for their cameras. Mountain biking, horse riding, hiking and mountaineering holidays all thrive in the Clyde Valley, and the fishing is excellent. The New Lanark World Heritage Site is also of significant note, a beautiful 18th century mill close to the Falls of Clyde. The mill has been lovingly restored, and as well as giving stunning views over the valley, also gives visitors an unprecedented insight into times gone by.

The West Coast of Scotland is just half an hour from the centre of Glasgow, and is one of the most spectacular, rugged and wild stretches of coastline in the whole of the UK. There are many little beaches, mostly remaining almost completely empty throughout the year. The swells of the Atlantic Ocean and the reliable onshore winds mean that the coast here is perfect for surfing, sailing, wind surfing and even water skiing, perfect for a day out form Glasgow accommodation.

Places to visit on holiday in Glasgow & the Clyde Valley, Scotland

Glasgow is wonderfully connected to Edinburgh, with a direct train link between the two taking just 45 minutes, and leaving every 15. Edinburgh makes a wonderful day trip from a holiday rental property in Glasgow and the Clyde Valley, especially during the Edinburgh Festival, when performers descend upon the region from every corner of Europe.

Weather in Glasgow & the Clyde Valley, Scotland

The weather you can expect from Glasgow accommodation is a little hard to predict. The windswept location just inland from the Atlantic means that conditions are unpredictable, but when spring breaks between March and May, mild temperatures and long, sunny days are commonplace.

Excellent modern property in a great location at a very reasonable price. Would book again.

Used the flat as a base location for a family holiday, they loved the location, (especially the shops and restaurants). The flat is ideally located for easy access to the plethora of facilities and amenities within 30 minutes walking distance. Kelvingrove museum and park are a short subway trip away from local station and well worth a visit. Largs and the island of the Great Cumbrae are less then an hours drive away and are worth a visit. The latter especially if you enjoy cycling and taking in panoramic views of the firth. Within 50 minutes drive north of the flat you come across the eastern shores of Loch Lomand and the small village of Balmaha, where you walk up Conic hill that offers breathtaking views of the Loch and its Islands. Great tea room, good home made cakes. Will keep an eye out on the availability of this property for future excursions into Glasgow. One week was not enough. Even though other reviews had said it all about this flat, it's worthy to cement what a bargain this is for such a high quality rental.

Much, much nicer than the photos

We walked in the door and knew that our stay would be thoroughly pleasant. It was, every day. The flat is extremely well laid out and equipped. The kitchen is roomy, bright, and airy -- really pleasant to work in, and with lots of space for the dining table. The bedroom(s), especially the master, are quiet and comfortable. The bathroom(s) are exactly what they need to be, with ample hot water a key feature. The location is excellent, with Byres Road just a step away. In all, this is an ideal base for visiting and exploring Glasgow.
