Great location to explore surrounding area. Ample accommodation for 4 of us plus the dog....the open plan rooms upstairs and large hall area made it easy living.....particularly in wet and muddy weather! Kitchen pretty well stocked....we would have benefited from one larger casserole or pan. Use of oven would have been easier with written instructions? Just a suggestion....particularly in the colder months, a big reminder to bring £1 and £2 coins for electricity top up would be helpful.....also, would there be any mileage in putting in some night store radiators, to take the edge off the cold and keep any potential damp at bay? We have put them in a flat and keep them ticking over all year...they work a treat. Charles was very friendly and helpful....and the scones on arrival were a welcome touch! We will come again!

What a treat. With just a few days to spend away from everyday chores, we picked Devon and the beautiful little Old Barn at Spurway Mill Cottage fitted the idea perfectly. Nestled in a wooded valley surrounded by farmland, the Old Barn feels timeless and safe from the world. The cosy space, comfortable bedroom and excellent kitchen couldn’t be better. Take your walking boots and get amongst the trees on the sign posted paths and you too may be lucky enough to spot some wild deer. We’ll return I hope to experience more of the Devon hospitality that the owners showed us, treats on arrival and warm handshakes too. If you fancy a well presented cottage with all the conveniences we’ve come to expect them you won’t go wrong here.
