Lovely property with a mountain view

5 of 5
The property had everything that we needed, it was very clean. A lovely little stream running through the end of the garden with the cows and sheep just over the fence.

beautifully situated holiday home

5 of 5
A very clean and comfortable chalet with use of a large garden bordering on the River Esk and a balcony overlooking the garden. A bird feeder is provided so I bought some bird food and enjoyed watching the birds feed. Steam train enthusiasts will appreciate the fact that the Eskdale to Ravenglass Railway is just across the road from the property. The area is fairly remote which seems to have the benefit of fewer tourists than in other parts of the Lake District, though we were there at the beginning of July before the start of the school holidays. We enjoyed wonderful hot weather and so it was lovely to sit in the shade next to the river at the bottom of the garden. We walked and cycled (there are bikes to hire or storage space for your own bikes) from the property. Most of the time it was very quiet though over the weekend there was a largish group staying at the guest house next door, who also have use of the garden. Friendly and helpful hosts. Thank you.
