This is a lovely 1930s property set on a hillside overlooking Branscombe. It's well equipped - plenty of crockery, pans etc for cooking. Beds are comfy and the large twin room has views across the countryside. Bathroom has a sloping ceiling so be careful when getting out of the bath! Lounge has a small dining table ( ok for the two of us) and sofa and 3 chairs, TV and patio doors. There is a proper dining room but we didn't use it. Garden has a patio table with chairs. The lawned area is lovely for sunbathing and has views across the valley and down towards the town. There is a wild area with a clothes line to the side of the property. We saw rabbits, pheasants and loads of birds in the garden. Branscombe doesn't have much in the way of amenities but has a lovely beach (pebbles) with a cafe, there are two pubs - we went to the Fountain Head, great food at a reasonable price. There are some walks from the village along the coastal path. Sidmouth is nice. Donkey sanctuary also worth a visit. Overall we found it lovely and relaxing.
