Brilliant place for cosy family weekend away. Lots to do in area & could easily have stayed for longer. Will definitely give serious consideration to coming back! Thank you also for lovely welcome tray with tea/coffee/biscuits & local goodies.

Thank you to the owners, we had a brilliant long weekend, a regular re-union with a university friend and our families. The house was spotless and warm on arrival. It was perfect size for us, we have had bigger before, and grander, but we all felt this was pretty much perfect. It is an old property and the renovations inside have not spoilt the character, it has been done very sympathetically. Very cozy lounge with wood burner. Great kitchen, sundrenched from the south, with simple refrectory table for all meals. Beds were super comfortable. No major issues. We would have liked a more generous supply of wood, and happy to pay for that, the wood fire makes the property. There was some reference to outside woodshed to restock but couldn't find that. The shower downstairs is not the most powerful but it's fine. The heating went off after we arrived and the next day refused to come on without us jacking up the tabletop thermostat a bit. Minor things only. We loved our stay. There is a lot to do here. There is good walking from the door. Flodden battlefield is outside the kitchen window and well worth a walk round- very sobbering. I walked into Coldstream, minor roads and disused railway line, fantastic. We went to College Valley- more serious walking here and it's on the doorstep. Oh and it's a pleasant walk along the minor road to the Blue Bell Inn, 30mins on foot, very good pub food, walking there and back under the stars was a highlight. The booking and support was all spot on. Overall delighted and absolutely recommend this fine cottage.
