County Londonderry

WELCOME to County Londonderry! You will be guaranteed a warm welcome by our 'Derry' folk and will find a plethora of things to do:

why not.......soak up history and walk Derry's walls, visit the museum and learn, dip your toes in St Aidan's Holy Well, travel on one of Michael Palin's favourite train journeys - Coleraine to Derry, trek the brooding Sperrins, visit Binevenagh (Area of Outstanding Beauty), stroll through the Roe River Valley Park, play golf at one of the fabulous courses (links and park), glide over Lough Foyle, build sandcastles at Benone or Castlerock beach, surf the waves, explore our National Trust properties - stand beside the Mussenden Temple and wow at the breath-taking view, enjoy the quiet roads, on your bike or in your car, twitch at the RSPB sanctuaries, melt in Nirvana Spa, take a breather in a superb restaurant, shop in Coleraine or Derry's boutiques, perhaps attend one of the many festivals - visit the World Heritage site of the Giants Causeway ...............THEN TOMORROW.........................another day...............

Brilliant stay in secluded cottage on deer sanctuary.

Very warm welcome from Kevin and Caroline. Always on hand for anything we might need but not intrusive. Lovely cottage, spacious and well equipped. Private tour of deer sanctuary one of the highlights of our stay. Lovely to walk round the woods, lakes etc where there are many of Kevin's brilliant sculptures.

Spectacular property in a stunning location

                5 of 5
We found the cottage to be the perfect base for our time in this beautiful part of Ireland. The property is spacious, spotlessly clean, well furnished and equipped with all the home comforts. The large open plan kitchen/diner is a great sociable space for preparing and enjoying meals and the adjoining living room perfect for relaxing. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and the bathrooms are well fitted and maintained, and very clean. There was milk, bread, butter, tea and biscuits and other kitchen essentials kindly laid on for us so we could have a drink on arrival before setting off for provisions. Although rural and very peaceful, the cottage is only a 5 minute drive from Eglinton village (with shops and a supermarket) and 15 minutes from Derry City. We visited Derry, The Giant's Causeway, Portrush, Grianan of Aileach (a ring fort with breathtaking views), the coast around Dunfanaghy, and Belfast and really enjoyed it all! Thanks to Bevin and John for taking the time and care to create and maintain such a great holiday home. We highly recommend the cottage and hope to return to see more of this stunning area of Ireland.
