Enjoyable stay

4 of 5
The property is in a good location with fabulous views over the estuary. The railway station is just across the road and parking is easy and inexpensive. There is a Tesco superstore within a five minute drive. The accommodation is spacious and we appreciated having the two bath/shower rooms. The beds were clean and comfortable though the single beds/quilts would not be long enough for a tall man, the double room had a double not a king size bed. There is a patio to the rear which gets the sun all day and we were able to sit out each evening and enjoy a few drinks. A warning for anyone with accessibility issues, there is a very steep internal stair up to the bedrooms. Cai Ross the owner was very pleasant and welcoming. We had Sunday lunch in Paysanne below the property which we enjoyed very much and would thoroughly recommend. We felt that, overall, the accommodation didn’t quite merit 5 stars in comparison to other properties we have stayed in recently. Some of the furniture is rather tired and there are too many old ornaments and curios dotted about which gives the place a dated feel. The kitchen is a large room but the appliances and workspace are concentrated in one corner, the fridge is small and there is no dishwasher. The patio and dining tables could do with being refinished. However, none of this stopped us having a very enjoyable stay and we would say the property is good value.
