Wonderful gem in the Devonshire countryside!

5 of 5
After finding this gem online, I couldn't wait to stay here for a week with my partner and 5 year old son, to get away from it all. And boy, did it deliver! Upon arrival, we had a goody basket, which was such a lovely touch after the drive from London and really helped us to settle in. The property is the perfect combination of old "chocolate box" cottage chic mixed with all of the modernities you could wish for to make it a truly comfortable stay. It really is a beautiful find. It was immaculately clean, considering it is a grade 2 listed building, and had a lovely cosy feel. There is a log burning fire for any rainy days, but there is also central heating throughout if you're not feeling like Bear Grylls! There are lots of things to do, both in the immediate area, and if you want to take a little drive out. There is a beautiful old pub called the Tucker's Arms within spitting distance of the cottage. Really friendly staff and a great opportunity to have a chat with some of the locals. There is also a vineyard which the cottage backs onto, so feel free to go and grab yourself a bottle, as it really couldn't be closer! I would not hesitate to recommend to a friend or family member, although I think I would prefer to keep this little gem a secret as I don't want it to be reserved when I book again :)
