Supercars and F1 cars make regular appearances at Goodwood, adding to its appeal. In total the festival attracts well over 100,000 visitors each year and is one of the biggest events in the British motoring calendar. The horse-racing festival, Glorious Goodwood, held on the last weekend of July, is an opportunity to see power, speed and racing of the four-legged kind.

-Family attractions: The South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre is a fun and educational place to take children of all ages. It hosts special shows on almost a daily basis and will get kids excited about space and astronomy. Another excellent spot for the family to visit is the Fishbourne Roman Palace, which is the largest Roman home in Britain and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

-Outdoor activities: Chichester holiday homes sit between the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and South Downs National Park. Both places are havens for wildlife and are great places to explore the outdoors either on foot or on a bicycle. Within South Downs National Park is Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve. Nice, finely decorated and very spacious cottage with lovely garden. Very handy. We don't regret our choice. The basil pot in the kitchen was a great idea! The children loved the tennis court. The place is so quiet and peaceful; we've had a really lovely holiday. I warmly recommend the place to anyone who wants to rest from the hustle and bustle of working life.

This is a delightful setting. The cottage is clean and fresh-looking, well appointed and comfortable. Equipment and bedlinen were immaculate. There is good use of space and all our party (eight of us) were delighted with our stay. Jo was accessible, pleasant and accommodating. I recommend this place without reservation.

                                      Excellent Wedding day base

                                      5 of 5
Ashlyns was the perfect base for our daughter, the bride and ourselves to stay for her wedding held locally. The property was clean, tidy and very well appointed with everything we needed. It was a great place to be based for the pre wedding day decorating of the Fitzleroi Barn, and plenty of room for all the wedding day preparations for the bride...hairdresser, makeup artist and photographer. The dining room was the temporary 'salon' and the beautiful large upstairs bedroom was a magnificent 'brides dressing room'. The light was idea for the big moment captured by the photographer of 'putting on that special dress'!! A beautiful garden for resting in the sunshine. The location, in Fittleworth was quiet and tranquil for the post wedding recovery. We made use of the local Inns for evening meals The Swan and The White Hart and visited Pertworth House, Arundel and the beach at Atherington.
