Wonderful cottage

5 of 5
We are a family of 5 who have stayed in many holiday cottages. Puddleduck House was by the the cleanest and best equipped we have ever stayed in. The wine, roses and homemade cake were a lovely touch. Chloe was so helpful with everything. I chatted to Sue the cleaner and she was lovely and its very obvious that she works hard to keep the house as clean as it is. This was our first time staying in Coniston but won't be our last.

A delightful lodge

5 of 5
This is such a lovely lodge to stay in. iIt's stylish, spacious, modern and beautifully decorated. Was so lucky to book this lodge last minute and what a lovely surprise. There was nothing at all to criticise. Everything was spotless, bedding and towels were clean, beds were lovely and comfortable, masses of storage space., Everything you would need is provided, you really wouldn't need to bring anything.. The owner obviously cares about giving value for money. Good phone signal, Sky TV, good wifi, lots of sockets. 5 stars!!! Would definitely reccommend (have already done so) and would love to come back again. Nice and quiet where the lodge is situated. A few minutes walk to Reception and main gate and a short stroll down to the Marina. Just beautiful. The site is very presented. Didn't use the facilities much as we were sightseeing a lot. It all looked very nice though and the staff were really helpful and friendly. So happy we picked this lodge and wish we'd booked for longer, will definitely be back. Thank you!! Tips.... There is a service station shop to the right of the site about 10 minutes walk for supplies. There is also a handy supermarket by Windermere station.. Buses are frequent and buses stop on opposite sides of the road. The is no sign on the opposite side. Cross over for Windermere. Short journeys worked out cheaper by taxi. £7.50 to Bowness, bus was £4.50 each. Reception will call a taxi for you. We bought an explorer bus ticket for £11 for the day, (can also get 3 days) hop on and off and it conveniently stops at all attractions. Excellent value and a great way to see the lakes and the scenery is stunning Lovely trip on the boat from Bowness to Ambleside. Also Keswick is such a lovely town. There is a very helpful Irish bus man at Windermere station if you need advice and Tourist Information is right by the station
