  • Quite simply the best cottage in Jury's Gap
    5 of 5

We have stayed at no. 5 Coastguards Cottages several times, having previously stayed in 2 other cottages within the two terraces. No 5 is the best by far - it is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and very cosy. The owners clearly have impeccable taste and the whole house is full of stylish and yet authentic touches. The beds are comfortable, the linen lovely and the kitchen fully equipped. The sitting room is cosy and the dining room is just lovely. The TV room in the basement (with a downstairs loo) is great for families , and as there is the sitting room on the ground floor, everyone can be happy. On top of all of that, the garden is the best by far with 3 different areas to sit, including a lovely shelter if the weather is not quite warm enough, and lots of beautiful plants. I didn't want to leave this review as I'd prefer that the cottage was always available for us - if you do choose no 5, please look after it, and tread softly because it really is my holiday home of dreams.

  • Fantastic location for Christmas break
    5 of 5

We are a large fragmented family who wanted to spend a Christmas together and during searches found the Old Surgery at Rye. The house is fantastic, and very adaptable to fit parties of many sizes and descriptions. The hosts were more than helpful, in particular with regards my inability to work out how to use the oven! We didn't get to use the garden, due to the time of year, but it looks fantastic and would be a great spot on a warm sunny day! Rye itself is a lovely town, which comes into its own at Christmas, with the high street lit with Christmas lights and pretty much every store having a fantastic window display. I would recommend this house, without hesitation, to anyone that asked me.
