Things to do

-Golf: Visitors staying in a Burnham-on-Sea holiday cabin can practically walk to the Burnham and Berrow Golf Club. Founded in 1890, the club features two 18-hole courses. The Channel Course is the more casual of the two and is well suited for beginners or experienced golfers looking to practice. The club’s Championship Course is more prestigious and very traditional. Visitors are welcome at both courses throughout the year. Green fees for the Channel Course are quite reasonable and a good choice for novice golfers.

-Beaches: The beach at Burnham-on-Sea is miles long and can be broken down into several major areas. The main beach is located around the town’s famous pier and features wide stretches of flat sand and shallow waves. Lifeguards are on duty here daily from 1 May to 30 September each year. Burnham South offers easy seafront parking, whilst Burnham North is a fun place for kids to explore and also features several pubs. The Beach Lighthouse Area is famous for its nine-legged lighthouse and also allows dogs year-round.

-Outdoor activities: On the beach adventure seekers can try their hand at windsurfing and kite surfing. Lessons and equipment hire are both widely available. Horse riding and donkey rides for small children are also available from the beach at Burnham-on-Sea. Some visitors simply enjoy the tranquillity of walking along the coastline. If not staying in holiday homes in Exmoor, the National Park is an easy drive and has lots to explore on foot or on a bicycle.

-Family attractions: Families staying in Burnham-on-Sea holiday homes near the beach can make the short walk to the town’s famous pier. There is plenty here to keep little ones entertained, including an amusement hall. Beyond the pier, families have a choice between the Apex Leisure and Wildlife Park, Animal Farm Adventure Park, and Fun City at Brean Leisure Park, all located within a few miles from the centre of town.

Weather in Burnham-on-Sea

Visitors staying in a Burnham-on-Sea holiday cottage are likely to experience mild weather regardless of when they are in town. Daily high temperatures remain above 15°C from May to September. July and August are the warmest months and best times to visit the beach. The weather from October to April is cool, but still suitable for outdoor activities. Daily highs in the winter reach 8°C and are accompanied by lows around 3°C.

Lovely stay in Somerset

5 of 5
Apartment excellent all rooms bigger than appear in photos. Nice and clean, very comfortable everything you could need for your holiday. Lovely scones and jam and cream, tea and coffee left for our welcome. Lots of bits like hand soap, bin bags ,washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc for apartment use. Very handy. Beautiful views. It was good to watch the riding lessons. We had very hot weather during our stay but got a lovely cool breeze through apartment with windows open. So no sleepless nights. Jane is very friendly and helpful. Stable loft is ideally situated to visit lots of different places. What more could you want. Thanks Jane from Lin and Eddie

So Quiet with an Amazing View

5 of 5
The cottage is about 1/2 mile away from the nearest Road, and on the side of the hill with an amazing view overlooking the Cheddar Reservoir. The view is for miles out towards the Severn. I was a 50 something women on my own having a weekend away from the kids, and it was a perfect escape. I felt safe and undisturbed here, and I can't say enough how peaceful it was. Comfortable, affordable, remote ! With all the facilities you need, fridge (with small freezer section), oven, hob, plates, mugs, glasses etcx, towels & linen, a clean shower room. An amazing, quiet, hidden location, and the cottage stone walls are about 60cm thick, so you feel doubly protected from everything ! You are truly away from all noise and distractions here, and yet 10 mins drive from Cheddar George. Judy & Paul are lovely, they are there if you need them but never too intrusive, kind, approachable, helpful and friendly. Car parking space right next to the cottage. It was a lovely break. Thank you. Helen W
