  • Incredible New Year and 30th birthday stay in luxury
    5 of 5

We hired the whole of Buckenhill Manor for 3 nights for New Year and to celebrate my 30th birthday on New Year’s Day - and what an incredible stay! The house itself is set in beautiful countryside surroundings which is reflected by the rooms inside - all spacious, well appointed and seriously grand! The many (x3!) lounges, dining room and games room are all perfect for socialising and relaxing in. We were a party of x26 and never struggled for space. The main and second kitchen have everything you could wish for when hosting and cooking with a party of our size - crockery, storage, cutlery, electrical items (to the extent of a deep fryer and popcorn making machine), glassware for Prosecco at New Year - we weren’t short of anything. The Christmas tree in the main hall topped things off - and was a fantastic backdrop for photos on New Year’s Eve when we held a black tie party. The bedrooms surpassed expectations. Everyone in our party slept comfortably across the x13 bedrooms, almost all en-suite (only 2 rooms needing to share in the main house, and x2 in the Clock Tower Wing). Rooms (sometimes more like suites!) and bathrooms were spotless, towels provided throughout, and beds seriously comfortable and peaceful. Miranda was so welcoming on arrival - she took us through everything we needed to know, and had welcomed the driver of our big Sainsbury’s shop, before handing over the keys to us for our stay. Post-stay she even arranged posting some left-behind items back to us. We took the advice from the welcome pack she had shared in advance of our stay, and booked a table for our party at The Baiting House in Upper Sapey. The food was fantastic - though after some confusion from the staff there about the food menu available to us. Overall a brilliant place for a get together with friends and we made some treasured memories. We’ll hopefully be back soon for another big celebration in luxury!!

  • Wonderful cosy Christmas in lovely Tenbury
    5 of 5

On arrival we found Dr Field and her daughter had provided a bottle of their delicious apple juice and some really tasty homemade tomato chutney, it was much appreciated! I was very worried that my daughter and granddaughters coming from Australia to spend Xmas would not be warm enough but the cottage was very cosy. Because of my concerns the owner kindly provided 2 extra heaters but we only used them once when we were too lazy to light the wood burner. Although some of the furnishings are a bit worn, the beds were very comfy, the cooker coped well for the Xmas dinner (not always the case when away from home) the phone signal is poor but if you link your phone to the Wi-fi signal this solves the problem for the most part. The cottage is very reasonably priced especially at this time of year and my granddaughters loved it, it didn’t provide the snow they wanted, but they were amazed by a beautiful frosty morning. Tenbury is a lovely town, we all enjoyed the panto at the Regal, the volunteer staff were so friendly, the Spotty Dog for hot chocolate and we particularly liked the Rose & Crown for its cosy atmosphere and good food. My daughter was keen to have a decent curry before returning to Oz and the Bahar restaurant provided this to her satisfaction indeed one of our visitors said their biryani was the best he had ever tasted. For such a small town Tenbury has so many good places to eat. Further afield we went on the Santa Special at the Severn Valley Railway and to the cloisters at Worcester Cathedral to see the 100 decorated Xmas trees, both really magical. A lovely time was had by all!
