  • Chasteton Cottage, Morton in Marsh

Our stay was great. The cottage was beautifully warm with underfloor ground floor heating, and radiators in the 3 bedrooms, plus a large roaring log fire, as required, in the living room. The property had the quirks of a circa 1700 building with some creaky floorboards, crooked timbers and a steep spiral staircase to the two upper bedrooms. The kitchen, added onto the back of the property was light, large and modern, and the downstairs bathroom had a large walk in shower. There was a bathroom upstairs with a full size bath although it was rather slow to fill. The two upstairs double bedrooms are not large but they have good storage, if not much room to move around the beds. The downstairs double bedroom is large and comfortable. Although the property address is Moreton in Marsh, it is in fact about 3 miles out of town and in the heart of the country, accessed by a narrow country road. Horses and some farm vehicles are the main traffic past the cottage. It is however very easy to access all the surrounding Cotswolds towns and villages. The cottage has wonderful views across the surrounding country and a large garden to explore.. The property owners were very helpful and have responded promptly to all our questions. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this property.
