  • Beautiful location with friendly, fabulous hosts.

We stayed here for two weeks over Christmas and had an amazing stay. The cottage is in a picturesque hamlet, just outside Wooler, with outstanding views over the Northern Cheviots and great walks from the doorstep. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything we needed for a two week stay. It was warm, cosy and also has the added benefit of a large wood burner. We have never slept so well, with it being so quiet and relaxing. The hosts, Eileen and Paul, are extremely friendly and helpful and they ensured our stay was an enjoyable one!

  • Lovely cottage, all comforts. a real gem.

The cottage is lovely, all comforts you will need. Very well equipped, large lounge with corner sofa to fall into and very comfortable revolving chair. Wood burning stove in the lounge for added comfort - although central heating throughout too. Good kitchen area with fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher well stocked with crockery and cooking utensils. Comfortable bedrooms with velux windows, one with en-suite bathroom. Tastefully decorated and all left to make our stay as great as possible. I should mention too the really generous welcome hamper, definitely the best welcome hamper I have seen anywhere. The cottage is well placed for exploring the local area - or further afield. Around 7 miles out of Berwick upon Tweed but also in the middle of the countryside - best of both worlds. You DO need some good sensible shoes as it can be muddy around the area just before the main gates to the cottages. A review of this cottage would not be complete without a mention of the owner who made us feel very welcome and was always striving to make sure that everything was ok for us. We feel like we arrived strangers and left as friends. For any animal lovers it's also worth mentioning that the owner has many animals, rabbits, ducks, peafowl etc, and there are deer in the field next door (if you are lucky enough to see them). The rabbits are always running around the backs of the cottages nibbling carrots if you leave them for them on the lawn by the parking bays (look under your car before driving off!). Very lovely week and definitely intend to go back sometime later in the year. Recommend to anyone.
