On top of all that, it’s a terrific bargain with an entrance fee of just a few pounds. That said, the Model Village in the town also offers a fun day out; the surreal experience of a 1:9 scale exact replica of Bourton-on-the-Water. It even includes a miniature model village in itself - a model within a model! On a practical note, it’s the perfect first trip from your holiday accommodation in Bourton-on-the-Water, as you can easily see where attractions and shops are located. It's open every day except Christmas.

-Wildlife: Birdland encompasses nine acres, 150 trees, and over 500 birds in 50 aviaries; it's perfect for a relaxing wander, and you can even spot other creatures including dragonflies and water voles in the new 2.5 acre Marshmouth preserve. There is also an indoor Discovery Zone, and an Encounter Zone where spiders, birds and snakes (and their keepers) await you. Stop for a picnic along the Windrush banks, and be sure to see the only group of king penguins in England and Wales before you leave.

-Tours: Bloody Bourton Walking Tours are more than just a stroll around the village in sensible shoes: these historic walking tours offer a taste of the macabre! Enjoy ghost stories, legends, superstitions and tales of murder and crime. Family discounts are available.

-Museums: Cotswold Motoring Museum is a first-class experience, offering seven galleries overflowing with exhibits, including one about Brum! Enjoy the transportation of various eras, heightened with accompanying sights, sounds and smells.

Fabulous stay at The Vine

5 of 5
Very stylish holiday home in great location. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful garden with the use of the breeze house, which we used a lot, as it was so hot. Compact kitchen but as long as you don’t want to cook a gourmet meal, it is fine. Loved the slipper bath and separate shower cubicle. Hosts Amanda and Paul friendly and helpful. All in all, an outstanding holiday home.

An ideal cottage in a lovely village location.

5 of 5
We stayed with our two dogs for a long weekend break in this lovely cottage. It’s a great place to stay with a fantastic use of the space available to include a well equipped kitchen, good sized bedroom with a lovely comfy bed and a large bathroom. The living room is really cosy with sofas, freeview TV and a good wi-fi connection for the internet. A good selection of shops are close-by with a pub across the road and several others in the village serving good food and a wide range of drinks including excellent real ales. There is also a cheap all day car park which is accessed through the garden gate. The cottage is ideally situated to connect with the local footpaths leading to the Sudeley Castle and the surrounding area. The GWS Railway is nearby and can be used to travel between Cheltenham and Broadway. We will definitely be looking to stay again in the future. Thank you Carol.
