Cosy, stylish and memorable

We had a wonderful stay at Briar Cottage in Boscastle. The Saffron cake, Cornish cider, milk and shortbread biscuits were a very lovely surprise when we arrived after our long drive. The cottage is beautiful and we felt very much at home. We had a lot of fun keeping the fire going, enjoying cosy evenings in after windswept seaside walks during the day. The perfect place for lots of scenic excursions. Thank you very much again for letting us share in your patch of paradise and for being so helpful with instructions beforehand.

This is an exceptionally well equipped house with everything thought of for a comfortable stay.

We had a wonderful walking week based in historic Boscastle. In the house the spacious main lounge and the smaller lounge(snug) with books and cds were perfect at the end of a days walking. Despite there being an excellent and well equipped kitchen we ventured out to village pubs on some evenings and found the food and ambiance excellent. The location of the house was excellent as it was close to a bus stop and the old village main street. The bus service proved excellent for linear coastal walking and the drivers very helpful. The farm shop near Boscastle was worth a visit for lunch as the food is excellent and there is a pleasant walk along the cliffs back to the village. The area has links to Hardy and the walk to St Juliot's church via the Valency valley is well worth doing. We had hoped to explore Bodmin moor but there was too much low cloud and mist. The ferry ride from Rock to Padstow was interesting and the views of the estuary from the cliffs was beautiful. We chose to visit Rick Stein's cafe rather than the restaurant and had an excellent meal. Well worth the visit. Lanhydrock NT house and garden were fascinating with the magnolias at their best. We felt it was both an area and a house we would like to return to in the future.

Heather was there to welcome us and show us about. The farm house was beautifully decorated. The bedrooms were spacious, the bathrooms sparkly clean and newly fitted. The kitchen was modern with everything you needed. The house was warm and cosy, and we all enjoyed a very very comfortable stay, a real home from home. We hope that we will be able to revisit in the future.
