Things to do on holiday to Bodmin

One of the most popular things to do whilst on holiday to Bodmin is to hop on board a steam car at the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway. This is fun for the whole family. Check for special events throughout the year including dinner rides, murder mystery nights and others. Those who enjoy the outdoors must take time to explore Camel Trail. Here, visitors can walk or cycle around this beautiful location. It can be bit crowded during peak travel times, but in the off-season it provides a quiet, private destination. The Carnglaze Slate Caverns are very large caverns that visitors can explore at their leisure. Interestingly, the inside of these caverns is 10 degrees all of the time. This is a quite welcome fact, especially during the hottest months of the year.

The whole family will be pleased with a visit to Tamar Valley Donkey Park. Technically a donkey sanctuary, there is plenty for visitors to do. There are both indoor and outdoor areas, so this is a good choice even on a rainy day. Donkey rides are available for young visitors.

Lovely cottage set in a good location. Close enough to town of bodmin but still in a country locatio

Cottage was lovely and had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. We did have trouble with the log burner but only because there were no instructions but Alan explained how to work it. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for Christmas

5 of 5
We had a perfect week at Lower Margate. The property is amazing, it is secluded but well within reach of Bodmin and right on the edge of Cardinham Woods. This was great for walking the dogs and we would definitely recommend The Woods Cafe for lunch or just a cup of tea. The beach is within approx 30 mins drive. The house is very well supplied and has plenty of room to relax both inside and out. The garden has plenty of space with lots of areas to sit or play games (not that we sat outside as it was December!) The house is beautiful both inside and out and whether you want a quiet break or a time of full on outdoors activity Lower Margate is the place for you.
