Beautiful cottage in the quiet village of Powerstock. The narrow roads to go anywhere within 3 miles takes a little getting used to, but doesn't take long! We bumped Into a stray cow at one point! But an absolutely stunning house, perfect for relaxing and some R&R. It's full of character, had all he things you could possibly need including a radio and lots of books and kids toys! The garden is stunning and perfect for sitting out with a cold lager! The local Pubs are also nice, the horseshoe is the nearest, stunning view out the back and then there's the Marquis of Lorne which is a short drive or a steep brambley walk from behind the horseshoes. Both lovely although we preferred the Marquis, however opening times to both are a bit few and far between (don't expect an afternoon pint!). Recommend Lyme Regis for a visit, a quaint seaside town with a beautiful bay and amazing fish and chips! We also loved Abbottsbury, where they have the swannery, subtropical gardens and a farm which our 2 year old loved. Bridport is the local town which is also nice, we used Morrisons a lot there. Just up from there is west bay where Broadchurch was filmed, we took a 'gentle cruise' around the Jurassic coast from there, but it wasn't that gentle! Although myself and my husband loved it, it was more of a speed boat than a gentle pootle (my parents were glad they stayed back with our daughter!). The best local beach (they are all shingle apart from Weymouth and a small bit at Lyme), we found, was in Burton Bradstock. Easy parking to get your beach stuff down to and a lovely cafe and ice cream shop. We also really enjoyed Weymouth. A large seaside town, but lots to do for kids including donkey rides! We all said we could have stayed at least 2 weeks longer!

We really enjoyed our stay at Brooksyde. Zoe has provided us with bits and pieces to start with which helped before we were able to shop. As there were 6 of us adults, we were somewhat worried having to share 1 toilet and A bathroom (separated) but it didn't prove problematic. The living area is fantastic and the kitchen ideal. Thank you, Zoe.
