  • Lovely house in the country

We stayed in the house for 5 days, and we really enjoyed our stay. We had some trouble finding the house when we arrived, because the street didn't exist correctly in the GPS (Google Maps and Waze); I'm guessing that's because it's fairly recent. Its location 20 minutes North of Inverness was perfect for our needs. The house itself was exactly as advertised, just right for 4 people, with a comfortable living room, and very clean. The only issue we had is that we barely had any hot water on our last 1,5 days (basically the equivalent of one full minute in the shower). I mentioned this problem in an email (sent to the address mentioned in the house folder) but got no answer at all. That's our only complain about our stay there.

  • Welcoming and comfortable holiday cottage with everything you need to feel at home

This property is perfect for short or long breaks, it has everything you need! We came in October so the weather was starting to change but not once did we feel cold in the cottage. Lovely homely feel with good sized double and twin bedrooms, big lounge with comfy sofas, perfect after a day hillwalking. Lit the wood burner most evenings as the temperature dropped and it was all we needed. Great to have a decent washing machine and tumble dryer too in a separate utility room. Kitchen and dining room were a good size too for 2 adults and 2 children and enough room overall so you could get some peace when you wanted it. Excellent space around the cottage too with Veronica's own cottage next door and her friendly horse Scotty with Mary the sheep and lots of chickens, geese, ducks, pheasants and rabbits in enclosed paddocks. Oak cottage is also in a great location of exploring the local area, Inverness, Loch Ness, Beauly and further north into the Highlands. I would recommend climbing the highest point above Loch Ness, Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh, amazing views along the length of the Loch and if you're lucky on a clear day you can see across to Skye. In summary, a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.
