  • A modern property where everything works
    4 of 5

This property is a very easy base for Portland. It was very clean, everything worked and we found the beds comfortable. The neighbours seemed friendly and, when we had a problem with our car, were very helpful. The house is painted white throughout, which for us made it feel a bit impersonal - a few pictures on the walls would be nice. We didn't know the area well, and for us, Portland wasn't really the best base for what we wanted to do. Although we enjoyed visiting Tout quarry and the sculptures and the museum in Easton, plus walks around the Isle, a mainland base would have suited us better - I would think though that this would be an excellent place though for anyone involved in any of the local water sports that we saw people enjoying.

  • Always an excellent place to stay

This is our second visit to the Cider room. It is very comfortable, very clean, very quiet, and had everything that we needed. We particularly appreciated the cotton sheets on the bed. Karen and Bill always offer an excellent welcome. The location is perfect for visits to all spots along the Jurassic Coast. We especially recommend visiting Bridport, the market, and the fine independent shops there. West Bay is only a fifteen minute drive and offers wonderful views. Overall the accommodation offers exceptional value for money, and we will return again.
