Winters here are warm and sunny whilst the summer is hot and humid with average high temperatures in July and august 40 degrees centigrade. Average high temperatures in January are around 24 degrees centigrade but can dip to as low as 15 at night time. There is minimal rainfall in Ras Al Khaimah. February and March are the wettest months averaging 38mm and 34mm of rainfall respectively.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about an hour and 15 minutes drive from Ras Al Khaimah. There are flights to Dubai from various international airports including Amsterdam (AMS), Athens (ATH), Beijing-Capital (PEK), Berlin-Tegel (TXL), Brussels (BRU), London-Heathrow (LHW), Madrid (MAD), Moscow-Domodedovo (DME), New York (JFK), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Tokyo-Narita (NRT), Toronto-Pearson (YYZ), Vienna (VIE), Washington-Dulles (IAD) and Zurich (ZRH). Several car rental companies are located at terminal 1 and taxis are also available from the airport.
