The scuba diving in the Kalkan – Kas area is astonishing, and there are scuba diving centres located along the seafront in both towns. Exploring the sunken city of Kekova is a particularly unforgettable experience.

Wandering through the tree lined, cobbled streets of the towns in the area is a wonderful experience, taking in the regular little boutiques and stopping for refreshment in the many atmospheric restaurants, cafes and roof terrace eateries. Scattered throughout the region are a huge range of Ottoman, Lycian and Roman ruins which are unlike any others in Europe. These sites are meticulously preserved, and will inspire visitors, and range from the rocky tombs of Kas to the huge amphitheatre outside Kalkan.

The unspoilt hills which form the backdrop to any holidays to the Kalkan – Kas region are perfect for walking holidays. There are walks ranging from strenuous hikes up into the mountains to leisurely strolls along the Lycian Way, which runs along the coast.

10/10. The villa is beautiful and absolutely immaculate. Everything is there for your comfort and ease- balconies in every room, great ensuite facilities with large showers and plenty of room. Even a water cooler and filter system which is replenished by request and no fuss. The staff on hand are so friendly and helpful. The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful also. The transfers were arranged for us, and the minibus was immaculate, on time, provided the baby seat requested. The villa has stunning views, and a wonderful pool which is cleaned every day without fuss. We enjoyed Kalkan and the Turkish coast thoroughly. Even the airport at dalaman was impressive, roads excellent, buses immaculate, likewise taxis. Extremely friendly locals, lots of good places to eat. Sea is clear and pleasant to swim in. I can't recommend it highly enough. Brenda Lampard.

What a fabulous view

Very well equipped and very clean, the apartment is set high on the hillside, affording wonderful views over the bay. We were fortunate that the shared pool was not used by anyone else. The weather was excellent so other than a couple of days, we relaxed round the pool. The Tuesday market was very large and lots of fun was had haggling with the very friendly traders. I would certainly Recommend this apartment, though you need to be fit if you plan on walking. We came to an arrangement with Ayhan, a local very reliable taxi driver, who charged the equivalent of £5 per night to ferry 5 people to and from the town - brilliant. We be back, as we found Kalkan to be one of the friendliest and safest places we have been.
