Those who travel to Bodrum with a desire to sightsee will be glad they made that decision. The ruins of the Mausoleum of Mausolus, for starters, are found here. Mausolus was an ancient ruler who ruled over the Carians, some of the earliest settlers of Bodrum, between 377 and 353 BC. Upon his death Greek architects were brought in to build a monument and a tomb for him. What remains of this once elaborate 46-metre pyramid-like structure has been christened one of the Wonders of the Ancient World. Other than sightseeing, visitors to these parts love taking cruises in the calm Aegean waters as well as indulging in the usual water sports such as swimming, diving and wind surfing. Party animals will want to visit Halikarnus, a humongous outdoor nightclub and those who want a relaxed drink can repair to Kuba, an ambient resto-lounge. These are among the several establishments in Bodrum that promise a good time and excellent Turkish cuisine.

Overlooking the marina and harbour is the majestic Bodrum Castle which was constructed by the crusaders in the 15th century. A trip to the Bodrum Amphitheatre is also an integral part of the Bodrum experience. This structure was built during the reign of Mausolus and is quite well preserved.

Stunning views and well appointed apartment in a modern resort!

5 of 5
Nestled near the top of this modern resort, you are rewarded with incredible views over the bay and across to Gulluk... With two small 'local' pools both nearby, you can almost pool jump as the sun moves throughout the day; our favourite was the "quiet pool", marked on a map you'll find in the apartment (thanks Nazia!) - go seek it out if you're able. On-site you will find the poolside lounge/bar/restaurant, which serves pretty much all day - along with a small shop, selling the essentials. Head to the Marina Restaurant for something a little more classy, but still totally affordable. Now, if you want to do a 'big shop', head over to Gulluk (complimentary boat service) and fill your boots and for those beach bums, you can ask Yakamos Restaurant to collect you from the resort and whisk you around to Jasmine Beach; just be sure to spend a little money with them when you're there. It's worth noting that there is a car service around the resort to - their crew will run you down (and back up) from the marina as needed. Lastly, for those who need to be connected, Wi-Fi is strongest near the main pool and you will need a voucher code from the main office. As a first-timer to Turkey - this has been an incredible week's holiday.

Beautiful location great apartment

5 of 5
Great views from the lovely apartment set on a hill facing out to sea. Beautiful sunsets from the balcony. Excellent pool area with 2 kiddies pools plus new play area. Private beach with jetty and clear water you can see the fish. The restaurant serves good food and there’s a delightful coffee and cake restaurant overlooking the beach. Tennis court and gym. Easy to get around sight seeing either by car or bus. The apartment is very well equipped, comfortable and very relaxing. On sight staff are polite and helpful.
