  • A Caribbean home from home

We have just returned from a two week holiday. We booked via the owner, Nigel, he also arranged for us to be met at the airport by Roger with the car hire. Everything went like clockwork, we followed Roger to the Villa and found a well equipped, clean and comfortable Caribbean home. The plunge pool is a generous size and a real blessing after discovering the nooks and crannies of the beautiful island of Tobago. The location of the villa is great, on a well landscaped golf complex next to the Grand Magdelena Hotel resort. A short stroll leads you to views overlooking the Atlantic. A car is needed if you wish to explore the many beautiful bays of the Caribbean and the Atlantic. Driving is on the left as in UK and perfectly easy to find your way around. Cash (Trinidad & Tobago Dollars) is preferred for car rental and is also needed for many beach restaurants, rain forest restaurants and some shopping. We booked flights with BA although the long haul is 11 hours, it's worth it. Wall to Wall sunshine 30 degrees, a few cooling showers particularly in the rain forest, hikes and waterfalls, spectacular beaches to explore, great food, lovely helpful people, a lovely place to stay. What more could you ask. We highly recommend.

  • Relaxing private accommodation in a great location

We spent ten days here in February, and couldn't have chosen a better spot. The owners were really helpful in picking us up at the airport, taking us shopping, organising car hire, etc. They live close by, were always available but never in the way. The accommodation is a good-sized bedroom/sitting room with kitchen area and bathroom off, in a separate detached building. All in good order, well equipped and pleasantly decorated. The best feature is the balcony/sun deck, secluded by banana and palm trees, where we spent a lot of time, sunbathing, reading and eating. There's a village a couple of minutes walk down the hill, which has a shop, ATM, fruit and veg stall, decent restaurant and a couple of bars. Walk on a bit further and you come to the lovely sandy Grafton Beach, one of the best beaches in Tobago, never crowded. There's a good beach bar/restaurant here, Waves, where we went many times, and just past it is a more upmarket restaurant, Sea Horse, for more fancy dining. There's a good-sized supermarket about ten minutes drive away. All in all, highly recommended. We're planning to go back next year.
