  • Wonderful property, views, welcome, faultless in every way

We could have happily sat on the balcony all week, watching the scenery changing minute by minute with the passage of the changing skies over the mountains, but there is so much to get out and enjoy in this area. Markus has been an exemplary host, providing a wealth of knowledge about all that is available in the area, but he has never been intrusive. The local scenery is truly breathtakingly beautiful - snow capped mountains, lush green meadows, many striking waterfalls, turquoise blue lakes. The funicular railways provided a taste of history, along with a rapid ascent to a level where further walking provided yet more stunning views. We enjoyed an outing to Luzerne - the buildings in the old town were so beautiful, and the place was buzzing with high quality street music on the Friday evening. Particular favourites: Scenic drive via Aeschlen & suspension footbridge to Sigriswill & Beatenbucht to catch funicular & cable car to Niederhorn. Blausee for real minimal effort middlle earth walk amongst huge boulders and ferns to bright blue lake, full of trout Oeschinensee for picture perfect lake against sheer rock face background Lauterbrunnen valley to Stechelberg for verdent valley between steep rock faces, Trummelbach falls - within the rock - water draining from the Eiger, Jungfrau & Monsch - the quantity & force of the water a complete wonder Walk from the very pretty village of Iseltwald along the side of lake Brienz to Giessbach, and then up the funicular by the waterfalls to the very grand Hotel - a real feel of 1920's splendour There is so much more to see, that we will definitely have to return again. The whole experience was an absolute feast for the senses.

  • The real Swiss feeling

This place gave the real Swiss feeling, both the appartment itself and hills with the cows grassing outside. You can buy cheese at the farm. I loved the water feature outside the appartment. We used mostly public transport and was very happy about the Panoramacard Thunersee wich gave us free tansport on buses. To get to the bus stop you have to walk over a hill, so a bit up and down, but it does not take more than 10 min and it is a great view in all directions from the top of the hill. .
