Les Crosets is a fantastic place for snowboarders to rent a Portes du Soleil chalet. Set right in the heart of the domain, Les Crosets is a quiet resort, ideal for those wishing to get at the most fearsome terrain, and are on holiday primarily to ski or ride, not party. There is a fantastic snowboarding school and boardercross park here which helps with its reputation as a top snowboarding destination.

Torgon lies right on the border with France, with a real mix of skiing terrain. The pistes are mainly aimed at beginners and intermediates, although the backcountry is quite excellent. There are also a huge range of cross country trails, a world class restaurant and some great little bars to enjoy in the evenings.

Morgins boasts some incredible activity options throughout the year. The skiing is exemplary, and when the Portes du Soleil lifts open for the last time in a season, Morgins’ walking, white water rafting, rock climbing and para-sailing credentials become clear.

Truly stunning penthouse and location

5 of 5
This is really a little bit of heaven. We had an amazing time in the flat, it is truly gorgeous, even our boys aged 13 and 16 were blown away with it, especially the view. The apartment is very spacious with its open plan layout and double height ceilings. The balcony was much used with it being bathed in sunshine (sadly the weather wasn't in our favour for the first few days). We appreciated our own bathrooms too, the apartment was super clean on arrival. The location was very central. We made great use of the mountains with great walking on the doorstep, my husband cycled most days, covering the Great St Bernard's pass, over to Verbier and to Lac de Mauvisson. The shop opposite is very well stocked and we found this very useful. This is one of the best locations and apartments we have had the joy of spending a week in, many thanks for sharing it. We will definitely be recomending it and would love to return at some point.

Superb chalet

5 of 5
We have just come back from 5 days at the chalet, Les Hirondelles, and we had a fabulous time. The chalet itself is extremely comfortable and very well appointed. It has that special combination of being homely but incredibly functional: clearly a lot of care and thought has gone into designing and furnishing Les Hirondelles and nothing has been overlooked. We were in Villars to do some walking and the chalet was well located for this. The area caters for all levels of walks and hikes and everything is extremely well sign-posted. Generally we would go out in the mornings and have lunch at one of the mountain restaurants recommended before heading back to the chalet to recuperate and take in the stunning views over the valley from the chalet balcony. We would unhesitatingly recommend Les Hirondelles to anyone looking to spend summer days walking in Switzerland. You could spend the entire summer there and still not get through all that is on offer in terms of walking, biking, swimming and, of course, eating. Useful information for all of these is provided at the chalet and the owners were extremely helpful when it came to the complicated rules of recycling in Switzerland. We would love to go back!
