The summer Foire du Betail festival is an absolute must if you are lucky enough to be staying in Les Crosets holiday rental accommodation during the summer. The livestock sales are the main event, yet the vast majority of people spend their day enjoying the showcases of local music, art and traditional dance, food and costume.

Even better than the photos!

The property has a really nice living space, with patio doors to 2 aspects that can be opened in nice weather. The views are amazing, and the location is one of the best in Leysin: it's a little outside the centre, on a very quiet street, but no more than 10 mins walk from lunch/dinner places (from crepes to pizza/pasta to Chinese to fondue...). There are also several supermarkets in town, where you can find pretty much anything. The garden offers an attractive space to sit out. We had a fox and a small deer wander through while we were there! The washer/dryer are a nice touch, and there's tons of utility space in the basement for drying. Plus the owners have a great set of board games and jigsaw puzzles, for quiet evenings in. There are plenty of nice local walks, including to the nearby Gentian Garden, and it's about 5 mins walk to the nearest sports centre, which has outdoor tennis courts. There are also some nice mountain walks, especially if you take the gondola up to Berneuse. Leysin is also a good base for visiting places like Geneva, Bern, Gruyere and Lucerne - easy motorway driving, plus beautiful mountain vistas if you're happy with back roads. Aquaparc's also a great option if you have kids. The owners were always available for questions, and the property instructions were very clear. Overall, if you're looking to stay in this part of Switzerland, this is a great option, which we can't recommend highly enough.

Cannot be faulted. 35 years skiing and this is one of the best apartments I've stayed in. The superb location, the spacious, light and airy apartment with gorgeous fixtures and fittings. Just fantastic and already booked for next year.
