The main attraction of this part of Switzerland is the winter snow, with St Moritz perhaps one of the most famous ski resorts in the world. The resort here offers pistes with something for people of all skill levels. Downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing can all be tried here. It is also the home of the famous Cresta Run and visitors can try bobsledding, ice skating and curling here. This is an idyllic area for hiking in summer with beautiful mountains and 500 kilometres of walking trails. There are several sporting facilities located in Engadine including golf courses with some stunning scenery. The stream and lakes of the region lend themselves to some excellent fishing. Holidaymakers can also take to the water in summer for a swim. Numerous restaurants, bars and cafes are located in the area offering local fare as well as dishes influenced by neighbouring France and Italy. Self catering holidaymakers can purchase food and drinks from the supermarkets and local grocery stores. Souvenirs such as hand-made crafts from one of the many boutiques and there are also lots of sport shops here.

There are a number of interesting places in the area including the hot springs of St Moritz. Boat trips can be enjoyed along Lake Sils with stops at the Chaste peninsula, Plaun de Lej and Isola. There are a few museums in St Moritz such as Berry Museum and Segantini Museum. The Bernina Express is a train ride taking passengers across the Bernina Pass and down to Tirano in Italy, where visitors can stop to view beautiful palaces and churches.
