  • A beautiful, spacious house in an ideal location.

We had a wonderful week staying at this fantastic property. We chose it because we wanted plenty of space for four adults and three teenagers and it was easily big enough for the seven of us, offering very comfortable bedrooms and a good choice of places to sit, relax & socialise. The outside decked area was particularly wonderful in the evenings, with plenty of seating and a lovely hot tub to relax in. The kitchen was really well equipped and the laundry facilities like a home from home. The house was ideally located at the end of a quiet road, but within easy walking distance of the lake and the locks on the Göta Canal, as well as facilities like a grocery store. We all enjoyed the lovely woodland walk down to the lake and were fascinated to watch a variety of boats coming down the series of locks on the canal, within a few minutes’ walking distance of the house. We had a lovely meal at the Kanalkrogen restaurant at the top of the locks and enjoyed ice creams and mini golf outside the youth hostel, where my aunt was delighted to find how easy it was hire a bike for a day’s exploring. On the last evening we booked an evening cruise around Lake Roxen with buffet and music on board, which was great fun. I would thoroughly recommend this house as a great place to stay with family and friends and experience a lovely part of Sweden.

  • Spacious and comfortable house in the country

Our family of four enjoyed a great holiday here in August 2016. The house is large and situated very prettily in a clearing in the woodland; visitors included a deer and red squirrels. There's plenty of space for up to six guests with two sparate living areas, a brand new kitchen with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer. There are several places to eat outside, including a deck with table and parasol. One of the highlights (especially for the children) was the sophisticated hot tub, which we had exclusive use of. A small note is that there is just the one bathroom which contains the only toilet, a possible problem if there were six guests. The house is next door to that of the owners, Johannes and Ann-Charlotte, but the garden is so large, with a small orchard so that you don't feel overlooked. Ann-Charlotte and Johannnes were really helpful in ensuring that we were settled and were very knowledgable about the local attractions. There's lots to do in this part of Sweden; highlights included Vadstena, the Omberg, Lake Sommen, the Swedish airforce museum at Linkoping and the picturesque town of Soderkoping. The countryside locally is very pretty and the people are very friendly, with English widely spoken (thankfully as our Swedish is so limited) We'd certainly recommend this property and also this area of Sweden.
