Make a holiday rental property or villa in St Lucia, Caribbean your home away from home

St Lucia is one of the Windward Islands in the centre of the Eastern Caribbean. It is a small, tropical treasure which is still largely off the tourist trail, with indescribably stunning peaks covered in thick rainforests, where exotic plants and animals thrive. Often referred to as the ‘Helen of the West Indies’ after the beauty of Helen of Troy, Britain and France went to war 14 times over this tiny island, which may hint at the staggering desirability of St Lucia.

Things to do on holiday in St Lucia, Caribbean

The glistening Caribbean Sea is host to a huge amount of activities and leisure opportunities. Sailors and fishermen who take a St Lucia property rental will be very hard to convince to leave the island again, as St Lucia offers some of the best sea fishing anywhere in the world, and every type of vessel is available for charter. There are several big game fish in the waters of St Lucia, including the ultimate trophy; white marlin. Aside from this, windsurfing, water skiing, para-sailing, banana boating and many other sports are available, but it would be insane to take self catering St Lucia accommodation without going snorkelling or scuba diving. St Lucia is home to some of the most diverse dive sites known in the Caribbean, which is not a small accolade. Whale and turtle watching excursions are hugely exciting too. Of course the beaches of St Lucia will take up a huge amount of your St Lucia holiday, and rightly so.

The interior of the island is covered in thick rain forest, where the St Lucia National Trust have created some magnificent walking, mountain biking and hiking trails, jeep safaris, quad tours and bird watching excursions to see the rare Jacquot parrot. Surprisingly, there are also three golf and spa centres in St Lucia, offering two excellent 18 hole golf courses and three picturesque 9 hole golf courses.

St Lucia has been inhabited for many years, and evidence of the islands long past can be seen in the fascination mosaic of ancient fortresses, open-air markets and tiny villages.

Weather in St Lucia, Caribbean

St Lucia benefits from an almost entirely uniform climate, so a St Lucia villa or holiday rental property is a magnificent choice all year round. Temperatures tend to be between 21°C and 32°C at any time of year, and the short rainy season lasts from June until November.

Flights to St Lucia, Caribbean

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic offer six flights a week from London Gatwick (LGW) and Manchester (MAN), with an extended number of flights in the summer schedule. These flights mean that St Lucia holiday accommodation is a viable option for a weeks holiday.

Truly A Castle in Paradise

5 of 5
Villa 14 is situated in the resort Castles in Paradise. The name says it all! Villa 14 was truly a Castle in Paradise. The villa is extremely spacious with four bedrooms, all with en-suites and dressing rooms. These are well equipped with lots of wardrobe and cupboard space. It really is a home from home with all amenities and mod cons. The kitchens were fully equipped with every kind of gadget superior crockery, cutlery and dishwasher. There is also a heated swimming pool, which we made good use of! The ocean views from the villa are spectacular from every room and the spacious balconies. (The beach is 5 mins away) On arrival we were treated to a welcome dinner prepared by a private cook arranged by the owners. We enjoyed the superb food and also thought that was such a lovely thing to do. I was in a party of 8 and the villa was spacious enough for all of us. My guests from America loved the villa. The whole complex is gated with security guards so feels very secure. The gardens and landscaping are beautifully laid out and well maintained. The Airport is only 10 minutes away as is the town of Vieux Fort. It is easily accessible to all the other sights on the island, such as the Sulphur Springs (1 Hr), the capital Castries (1 Hr), Gros Islet (1 ½ Hrs). I would recommend this villa to anyone visiting St Lucia. I will definitely be back next year and I have a waiting list of people wanting to visit! Brathwaite, Bedford, England

Stunning decks overlooking the Pitons. Beautiful gardens. Spacious modern bathroom. Access to beaches and town via steep and uneven road. Some excellent restaurants accessible by taxi.
