This is a lovely house which has been beautifully and lovingly restored within a charming village on the road to the famous Rodiles beach. This was our first visit to Asturias and it is easy to see why, during the early part of the 20th Century, the coastal resorts were so popular with the wealthy Spanish escaping from the heat of Madrid. The beaches are gorgeous and unspoilt, the countryside green and reminiscent of Devon, and the stunning backdrop of the mountains mean it has something for everyone. The house has everything you need and all the equipment is of top quality. Everything works well and the shower in particular is fantastic. The village has a couple of shops, a restaurant and a bar which does great food, all within walking distance. Claire met us on arrival and showed us round the house. She is rightly proud of it. She lives nearby and said she was available if we had any problems but she also left us to enjoy our holiday in complete privacy. The only drawback for us was that we get up at different times and as the open staircase up to the bedroom comes straight from the living room it was tricky for the early riser to make coffee without disturbing the one who was still sleeping, but if you are a couple whose habits are more similar this won't be an issue! A lovely place and highly recommended.

  • Lovely big apartment in the centre of the town

We really enjoyed our week's stay at this apartment. We were met by the owners Jose and Teresa who are very friendly people. They took time to show us around the apartment and went out of their way to give us information on things to see in the local area. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and bright with lovely large windows in all the rooms. It was very clean. The kitchen is a good size and had everything we needed to cook our meals. It's located in the centre of the town. There is a great little market two minutes from the apartment where you can stock up on fresh foods. Parking was on the road, although we always managed to find a space. The main bedroom has triple glazing to reduce noise from outside which was effective most of the time. There is plenty to see and do in and around the local area. Fantastic beaches a short drive away. We loved the culture and the friendly people in this region of Spain. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
