Just a few kilometres west of Palma, Majorca, Sant Agusti is a quiet residential area, and popular with those who have bought second homes on the island due to its good standard of accommodation, peaceful location and close proximity to Palma. Many properties in Sant Agusti offer excellent views out over the Mediterranean Sea, and lie close to the sand and main attractions of the area – ideal for those seeking a typical Spanish beach holiday.
Palma de Mallorca has expanded in recent years, and Sant Agusti is predominantly now a quiet residential area for the island capital, meaning it is a relaxing base to return to after a busy day exploring the island. This also means good amenities, with supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance of the main accommodation areas.
The sea front in Sant Agusti is home to a small fishing harbour and makes for a refreshing walk and some good photo opportunities. Further along the coast, Cala Mayor is the nearest beach, and one of the best sandy stretches on the island. The area around the beach has a vibrant nightlife, with a number of bars and nightclubs positioned along the seafront stretch.
Some of the best cafes and restaurants in the town can be found along the coast, where you can enjoy a drink or seafood meal and take in excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea. Just a short walk further east is Marivent Palace - the King’s summer residence, and the Cala Nova Nautical Club - which is the place to head for sports enthusiast, as here you can hire out water sports equipment or take lessons in kite surfing or sailing.
Sant Agusti is ideally positioned just 7km from Palma, the islands capital. The Old Town has much to see and do with galleries, museums, cathedrals and many other cultural attractions. The newer part of town boasts a cosmopolitan nightlife as good as anywhere else on the island. Golfers are also well catered for in the region, with Real Golf Bendinat within walking distance of Sant Agusti.
With an average summer temperature of 28C, the period from June to August is a great time for sun seekers to visit Sant Agusti. Visiting just before or after this period will help you avoid the bulk of the crowds, but should still be rewarded with fine weather, and even winter temperatures average a more than pleasant 13C.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is literally next door to Sant Agusti, meaning easy access and a short transfer time upon arrival. Almost every UK airline flies to this destination, from all across the country - so cheap flights can be found in abundance. Take care not to get confused with La Palma Airport (SPC), which is in the Canary Islands!
