Villas in San Fulgencio are made for beach and golf holidays in one of Spain’s most beloved coastal destinations. The weather is sunny all year round, the local beaches are long, sandy and clean, and there’s much to see and do nearby to keep everyone entertained. Holiday homes in San Fulgencio are laid out for families and groups of friends, with multiple bedrooms, large living areas and welcome comforts like pools, air-con, gardens and wi-fi. Things to do

-Beaches: The beach at La Marina, mere minutes from San Fulgencio, is nothing short of exquisite. It’s a natural preserve, two kilometres in length, with light and soft golden sands and moderate waves. At the back of the beach is a large set of sand dunes, but despite the pristine setting it’s good to know that there’s a range of facilities and services to make a day in the sun that bit more comfortable.  

-Golf: The Costa Blanca is admired for its world-class golf courses, and San Fulgencio also shines in this respect. La Marquesa is a couple of kilometres from the community and was one of the first courses in the region, but undergoes yearly updates to strengthen its appeal. There’s now a golf school, practice green, pro-shop, as well as buggy hire. Also a few minutes away in the car is Vistabella, an affordable but well-presented 18-hole course alongside full practice facilities and tennis courts.

 

-Nature: One of the most unusual features of the landscape surrounding San Fulgencio is the profusion of salt lakes. There are five in all directions, and those directly to the north and south (El Fondó and Lagunas Saladas de Torrevieja y La Mata) are protected as natural parks. The lakes are used to cultivate salt on a large scale, which is collected and exported internationally. They are also breeding, rest and nesting sites for a huge range of birdlife, from ospreys, to herons, ducks and coots.

-Food and drink: Few dishes are more archetypically Spanish than paella, and the Valencian Community is where this dish was first created. Local versions around Alicante are founded on seafood like squid, prawns, mussels and clams. Another Spanish classic is the sweet, turrón, a type of hard nougat made in the Alicante Province and a favourite at Christmas time.

-Days out: For an impressive UNESCO site, make the short trip up to Elche where there’s the Palmeral of Elche. This is a vast plantation of palm trees covering 1.4 square miles that has its roots in the Roman era. For memorable days out for all the family, there’s the Aquopólis water park close by in Torrevieja, while Benidorm is up the coast and has Terra Mitica, a high-profile theme park.

Weather in San Fulgencio

The Costa Brava is celebrated for its wonderful Mediterranean weather. People visiting a San Fulgencio holiday home for a beach getaway can arrive any time between May and October and expect clear, warm days. The hottest conditions occur in July and August when the mercury rises to the low-30s and doesn’t sink below 20°C at night. Spring and autumn weather is mild or pleasantly warm, while winters are also soft in this part of the country, normally getting highs of 16°C in January.

Travel to San Fulgencio

San Fulgencio holiday accommodation is almost equidistant to two international airports—Alicante-Costa Blanca (ALC) to the north and Murcia-San Javier (MJV) to the south. Alicante is marginally the closer of the two, and as one of the busiest airports in the country handles lots of routes from the UK. It’s around 30 minutes from San Fulgencio by car on the coastal N-332 road. By bus there’s a service to Elche where it’s possible to change for another to San Fulgencio. If driving from Murcia airport, take the AP-7 and turn off just before Almoradí.

First of all I’d like to say that communication with the owner Mike was excellent. He made sure that prior to our visit we had all the information we needed. The house itself is situated in a lovely quiet residential area and you’ll find local bars and restaurants within walking distance.We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property. This property offers exceptional value for money. The house is comfortable and well furnished,with the added benefit of air conditioning and also satellite tv. The perfect home from home with the added benefit of sunshine and swimming pool. Although we hired a car there’s a great bus service to take you into nearby Torrevieja. Can’t thank the owner Mike enough for making our holiday just perfect.
