Sa Coma is a quaint coastal town, located on the stunning east coast of Majorca approximately 5 kilometres from the larger tourist centre of Cala Millor. Things to do in Sa Coma

With a fantastic mix of great daytime activities and the famed Majorcan night life, you will never be at a loss for something to do in Sa Coma. You may even like to hire a car and use your Sa Coma holiday apartment as a comfortable base, from which you can explore the rest of the island.

-Sightseeing is a great way to unwind whilst on holiday, and the region around Sa Coma will not disappoint. A mere 45 minute walk from most Sa Coma holiday villas you will find the medieval Watch Tower on Punta de n’Amer headlands, which also affords you a great view of the spectacular Mediterranean sea. The Capdepra castle, located 20 km south of Sa Coma is another definite must-see, as this ancient fortress, built to protect the inhabitants from pirates during the 1300’s is absolutely breathtaking.

-A Glass bottom boat ride is another fantastic way to wind down, with tours leaving from Sa Coma. You may choose between anything from an hour long cruise, to a day trip, which allows you to explore the stunning Majorcan coastline, including some amazing coastal caves.

-Going to the beach is an obvious must do, as your Sa Coma holiday home will unquestionably be within walking distance of Sa Coma beach, which is so pristine that it won the coveted “Blue Flag Award” for cleanliness. If you get bored of lazing on the beach however, a variety of water sports are available, including: snorkelling, water skiing, banana boat rides, windsurfing and jet skiing.

-Playing sports is a great holiday pastime, especially if you have children, and Sa Coma provides everything from tennis to mini golf. One of Majorca’s biggest drawcards however, is the first-class golf courses, which dot the island. Club de Golf de Son Servera and Capdepera Golf are two courses located within 10 kilometres of Sa Coma holiday apartments.

-The Protur Safari Park located near Cala Millor is fantastic if you’re interested in seeing something a little different whilst on holidays. The park houses over 600 different animals, which basically encompass everything from elephants to snakes. There are also playgrounds and a petting zoo, which are guaranteed to wear the kids out, and ensure that you have a little quiet time back at your Sa Coma holiday villa that evening.

The weather in Sa Coma

Sa Coma experiences warm dry summers and cool damp winters, meaning that the period between May and October is generally the best time to visit. This is also peak tourist season however, and if you’re looking for a quiet island getaway, you’re likely to be disappointed by the crowds. If you’re willing to gamble on the weather however, Majorca also has a lot to offer outside of the main tourist season, including great deals on Sa Coma holiday homes.

Getting to Sa Coma

Although Sa Coma is located roughly 80 kilometres from the international airport in Palma de majorca, the recent completion of the Ma-15 highway means that the trip to your Sa Coma holiday home should only take approximately one hour. You may choose to undertake this short drive via shuttle bus, taxi or rental car, although a rental car is recommended as it gives you the freedom to stop and take in Majorca’s breathtaking coastal scenery.

A beautifully varied space to stay in.

So many outside spaces to enjoy, the pool being the jewel in the crown. It's underlit at night, and some of our most joyous moments were taking night time dips in it! The barbeque area was great, supplemented by an outdoor gas ring. That was new to us, and we had a great time cooking paella and fabada in it. The villa is within easy reach of Soller and Port Soller. It's on the fabulous MA10, the corniche road connecting all sorts of spectacular places from Andratx in the west to Pollenca in the east. Humi the host is warm, texting happy birthday to my partner when photos of our passports revealed to her that her birthday fell in the week of our stay! All in all, the place is a winner.
