Make a holiday cottage in Ruberts your home away from home

Cottages in Ruberts help introduce visitors to Majorca’s beautiful and unfrequented rural side. Working farms, fields with livestock, charming villages, vineyards and the outline of rugged mountains will form the captivating backdrop for a calm, peaceful getaway. Accommodation here is appropriately traditional, with beamed ceilings, wooden shutters and stone walls, but Ruberts cottages are also laid out with modern comforts such as private pools, wi-fi and satellite TV. And despite the quiet location, Majorca’s top beaches, golf courses, resorts and the city of Palma are all easy to get to from Ruberts holiday homes.

Things to do

-Nature: In this spot there are picturesque little villages, almond orchards, olive groves and vineyards, all ready to be explored on small rural roads or walking tracks. In the north rise the spectacular peaks of the Tramuntana Mountains, which aren’t hard to get to and are home to a great many walking and mountain biking trails.

-Golf: On Majorca a golf course is always close by, but here the Son Gual and Puntiró clubs are a few minutes to the west and they are both listed among the very best in Spain. Son Gual is especially prestigious, with an 18-hole course set in a landscape of centuries-old olive groves and remarkable hazards that even include a waterfall. Puntiró is a Jack Nicklaus course designed to test the best, with particularly unforgiving rough.

-Beaches: Even here in Majorca’s secluded interior the island’s beaches are never more than a simple drive away. What’s more, the central location means that the island’s northern coast is accessible. C’an Picafort has a gorgeous golden sandy beach on the Bay of Alcúdia. On the other hand, the lively resorts southeast of Palma, like S’Arenal, are also easy to get to, but there are also quieter spots like Cala Blava, centred on a small sandy cove.

-Palma: The capital of the Balearic Islands, this city holds half of Majorca’s population and merits a visit for its culture and shopping. The two top sights are the gothic cathedral, which was started in the 13th century but not completed for another 300 years, and Bellver Castle, also remarkable—it’s almost completely intact and dates to the 16th century. For retail therapy try Rosselló, Sindicat, Sant Miquel or Passeig del Born in the old town.

-Food and drink: Majorca has a winemaking heritage that goes all the way back to Roman times, and most production is set around the nearby town of Binissalem. Ferrer is one of the biggest names associated with this industry and has a wine cellar and vineyard open for tours. Another classic Majorcan product to try is sobrasada, a cured sausage with a soft texture and flavoured with paprika.

Weather in Ruberts

Holiday homes in Ruberts are on an island loved for its warm weather. From May to October there’s almost nothing but clear skies and temperatures perfect for the beach. On a normal day in July there are highs of 30°C and no sign of rain. Even early and late in the season there are plenty of bright and warm days. April gets average highs of 20°C and October is often very pleasant, despite the higher chance of rainfall. Winter days are occasionally fresh, but not usually cold, although it can get close to freezing at night here between December and February.

Travel to Ruberts

Ruberts is around 30 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), which is the way the vast majority of visitors arrive on the island. The airport is large, and in the warmer months becomes one of the busiest in Europe, managing lots of traffic from the UK. Most people will use a rental car to get from here to their holiday rental in Ruberts. The community takes half an hour to get to on the rural PMV-3011. There is a regular train service from the centre of Palma to the nearby town of Inca on the TIB railway.

A little bit of heaven!

5 of 5
We absolutely loved Ca's Vidorra! We've stayed at lots of other villas in the area, and this was definitely the best. The overall standard of everything is impeccable, and the location was perfect for us. We were a group of 6 - us, one son and his partner, and another other son and a friend - so everyone had plenty of space. My brother and his family were close by in another villa, and were VERY jealous when they visited! Wendy and her team were swift to respond to any questions, and incredibly helpful. We came home very relaxed and looking forward to our next visit! We loved living the life of Riley! Thank you Wendy!

Wonderful stay

4 of 5
The apartment is a little bit dated but is clean and comfortable and is in a fantastic location. Close to all amenities and some great restaurants and has fantastic views of the port from the very large balcony which is well equipped with table and chairs and comfortable loungers. No air con in apartment but this wasn't a problem as there is the occasional breeze and two very effective large fans if needed. Kitchen although small is equipped with all that you would need. Apartment also located close enough to take tram to Soller and to catch buses to Deia and surrounding areas. Smooth check in with Cheryl who was very helpful and informative. All in all had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend.
