We were a group of 8 people that went down to Orgiva to celebrate NYE. We stayed at Sybille's house and we couldn't be happier with the choice! There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably, the house has all the needed equipment to spend a few days. The check-in and check out with Sybille was really easy, she adapted to our arrival and leaving times and always replied within minutes when contacting her.
The outdoor space of the house is great! Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the swimming pool as it was winter, but we did have a couple of BBQs in the terrace, enjoying the sun the spectacular mountain views.
The house is a 20 min walk from the town, so you can walk easily there and enjoy some free tapas.
We will never forget how magnificent the sceneries were, how sweet and delicious the fruit from the villa’s gardens. The villa is fully equipped with whatever you could think of. Even though I never got to meet Felix but he was very helpful whenever I had a question, thanks to google translate I managed to communicate with him in Spanish!
Felix is so generous, we came back one day from a day trip to find a very generous basket full of the most delicious tropical fruit from Felix which we managed to consume within two days 😋😋
The villa sits high up on a mountain with the most amazing views you can imagine, however I would say its not suitable for eldery, disabled and very small children because of the very steep climb once you reach the villa.
We hired a 1.2l , 7 seater VW touran which we did not find powerful enough for driving in the Jete and Otívar area. A 4x4 will definately be better.
Felix’s mum met us at Alumñécar petrol station and led us with her car to the villa otherwise we would have never found it, after a couple of times we got used to the spectacular high up location. We used to use the local supermarket’s address as a destination to get to the villa. There is a local small supermarket called komo komo only a 2 minutes drive away with a super friendly guy who works there called Juan. On Sunday we visited the flue market in Almuñécar which was really nice. There is also in Almuñécar a lovely market for fresh meet, fish, groceries, honey, olive oil, at very good prices, called Municipal market. You can also find halal meet in Motril which within 30 minutes drive from the villa.
The villa can do with a little updating to be perfect and you will definately need google translate, and take plenty of mosquito repellant and bites cream as we all got nasty bites.
We went the last week of October and we were really lucky with the weather it was amazing, the mornings were a little cold but then it got nice and warm with plenty of sunshine with an average temperature of 22 degrees.
I have recommened the villa to everyone I know and will definately not hesitate to go back again and again, we really miss it, especially the sweet fresh delicious fruit and the heavenly views.
Thank you Felix for letting us stay in you beautiful villa.
