Make a holiday rental villa or rental house in Pego, Spain your home away from home

Pego is a beautiful, medieval village set among the orange groves of Alicante countryside in Spain. There is still an undeniable medieval atmosphere in the village, with houses built into the ancient town walls, and street layouts still true to their ancient origins. The main square which surrounds the iconic spire of the Church of the Assumption is the centre of life in the village, and if you are looking to truly explore the Alicante countryside and the beaches of the Costa Blanca in peace, a villa rental in Pego is the perfect solution.

Things to do in Pego, Spain

There is a huge amount to explore on a short walk from a Pego house rental as the village is filled with charming little bars and restaurants all around the central church square. Mediterranean seafood, traditional Spanish dishes and delicious local wines can all be found with ease throughout the menus of Pego’s eateries, attracting discerning visitors for large distances through Pego. After nightfall, Pego’s main square becomes a hive of activity too, meaning that you don’t have to travel far from your Pego villa rental for a hugely enjoyable night out. The beautiful views of the Mediterranean and the mountains from Pego property has meant that the village is becoming more popular by the year for beach breaks without the crowds, meaning a Pego house rental must be booked early to ensure you get the Pego property of your choice.

The short drive to the beaches of the Costa Blanca is worth it a hundred times over, with gloriously soft sands stretching for as far as the eye can see. The staggeringly clear waters in the area make it a favourite destination for a huge range of water sports, but it is the scuba diving credentials that make holiday rental properties in Pego such a huge asset for water sports enthusiasts. The coastal resorts in the area of a Pego villa rental are absolutely filled with leisure facilities, sport centres and international restaurants and bars, so if there is anything you hanker for from the rural peace of a Pego house rental, help is close at hand.

There are three excellent golf courses at your disposal from a holiday rental house in Pego, offering 54 holes of outstanding quality. The fairways are fast and smooth, the greens beautifully landscaped and the views sensational, as the Pego golf courses are among the most popular for many miles. There are also a great range of activities for family holidays available from a Pego villa rental. There are water parks, go-karting tracks and a huge range of sporting facilities all along the Costa Blanca.

Places to visit on holiday to Pego, Spain

Moraira is one of the best beach towns to explore from a holiday rental property in Pego. Small in size and hemmed in by the cliffs of the Costa Blanca, Moraira has managed to maintain much of its Spanish charm, yet still boasts a huge marina, plenty of fashionable shops and some magnificent seafront restaurants. The main beach, El Portet, is a delightful centre of water sports and lazy days in the sun too.

Weather in Pego, Spain

Poor weather is almost unheard of in Pego. There are an average of 325 days of sunshine every year, and average yearly temperatures of over 17°C. In summer, (July and August), you are unlikely to experience midday temperatures of less than 35°C, and rain is incredibly rare. During the short winter, rain is still infrequent, and daily temperatures reach over 15°C on the vast majority of days.

Travel to Pego, Spain

Alicante (ALC) airport can be reached in just over an hour from a house rental in Pego. There are a huge range of cheap flights to Alicante from the UK, and with the rural solitude of a Pego property in mind, taking a hire car from the airport is strongly advised in order to get the most out of your Pego holiday.

Absolutely fabulous location for a holiday

5 of 5
We had a wonderful time. Booking with Julie was simplicity itself. The villa is quiet, well-appointed and very well equipped indeed. It is large and spacious and had all we needed. After a poor experience in Spain the previous year this stay really helped to put things right for us: even the weather was brilliant! The road up to the villa is not for the faint-hearted but once you got used to it it was fun!!!! We loved the surrounding area too and are hoping to return to this villa and location later this year! Could not be more highly recommended by us. Only niggle? The mains water went off twice during our stay but this was nothing to do with the property or its owner and the local rep (Liz) was very helpful and also gave us great info about the local area. Beautiful Villa in a remote scenic location

5 of 5
This was our first time visiting Spain and Monte Pego didn't disappoint. The villa was very spacious and is kept in a very good clean condition. The views from the balcony and pool area are stunning, with panoramic views of mountains, orchards, rice fields, the local towns and the sea in the distance. The bedrooms were a good size all with their own bathrooms, the beds were comfortable and each room has air conditioning which did come in handy. The living room was a god space to all sit and relax listening to music or watching films, we took a laptop with us to watch films on the TV. The pool was big enough for relaxing and playing games, while allowing you to view the scenery form the edge. With the warm weather and the sun hitting the pool, we spent most of our time there. Having the barbecue area situated to the pool was ideal, we used the barbecue most nights and it was a nice area to eat and socialise. The owners were very hospitable, from the first email asking about the villa to arriving at the villa Oliver was very helpful and patient with all our questions. They provided us with local knowledge of the area and good places to visit, such as the farmers market in Jesus Pobre which supplied us with food for the barbecue and grappa (a spirit made from the seeds of grapes, very potent). Monte Pego is quite remote from the surrounding towns, which makes it a nice getaway to relax. The villa is ideal for self-sufficient travellers who have a car, with the port town Denia only a couple of miles south and Pego to the north both being nice places to visit. Valencia was about an hour’s drive from Monte Pego on the Auto Pista and Benidorm a similar distance, which I would definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance. The only downside to the remote location was the cost of taxi’s to and from the local towns, Denia was around £30 each way. But this wasn’t an issue we found, as we were happy visiting different places during the day and coming back to the villa to enjoy our time with friends/family in the evening. This is a beautiful villa in a lovely part of Spain, with two very nice and welcoming owners and I can definitely recommend a visit if you get the chance, we would definitely return if we get the chance.

Beautiful villa, stunning views

5 of 5
This was our second time at casa califia and we can't recommend it highly enough, since staying there in 2015, neil the owner has made many improvements including fitting a log burner which was wonderful in Dec, even though we were lucky and it was 18 degrees over Xmas, neil has also fitted a new shower room/ wet room which was really lovely. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room area were stunning to gaze out at the mountains and watch the sun setting on an evening. The villa had everything you could possibly need and is very very clean, comfortable and cosy. The swimming pool is fantastic and always kept spotless clean by neil, outdoor barbecue area with outdoor sink etc is also great for those barbecues on an evening. There is also an outdoor shower for when you step out of the pool. This villa really is home from home and we have had 2 fantastic holidays at casa califia with loads of wonderful memories and pictures to hold on to. We have already arranged with neil to go back again and I am counting the days to when we return. anyone who likes a nice curry then we can recommend Kathmandu in javea, beautiful food and lovely staff ( we went twice during our week at casa califia) beautiful beach in javea with crystal clear shallow water, so great if you have kids. All in all a fantastic holiday, there is only one problem, which is having to come home :-( thank you neil for letting us stay in your beautiful villa and see you soon. Sue & Gary. Leeds.
