Make a holiday apartment in Patraix your home away from home

Patraix holiday apartments are in a district just to the southwest of central Valencia. The culture, sights, shopping, dining and beaches of this remarkable city are all close at hand thanks to the city’s Metro system. Holiday homes in Partaix are in a part of Valencia in which visitors can escape the tourist trail and relax in the evenings. It’s possible to live like a Valencian local at apartments in Partaix, with domestic facilities like fully equipped bathrooms, living areas and kitchens provided, as well as wi-fi, making it easy and affordable to stay in contact and share photos.  

Things to do

-Attractions: One of Valencia’s unmissable attractions is the City of Arts and Science, a large series of buildings with sci-fi style architecture containing cultural amenities and performance venues. There’s an IMAX cinema here, as well as an aquarium, a science museum and an opera house. The complex also contains outdoor attractions such as L’Umbracle, a garden walkway with outdoor art pieces. 

-Beaches: From Patraix there’s a straight choice between the pristine natural beaches south of the city at El Saler or the vibrant urban beaches like Malvarrosa and arenas. Blue Flag El Saler is part of a natural park and sits next to the lovely Albufera lagoon, an important habitat for birdlife. Malvarrosa offers a different but no less enjoyable experience, with a long and broad stretch of clean, pale sand and all the shops and restaurants a family could need on hand. 

 

-Cuisine: All around Valencia the countryside is given over to rice production, and this influences the local cuisine. This is where paella was born, and a number of different varieties are available. The traditional version here is with pork and rabbit, but most visitors opt for seafood paella with prawns and squid. Oranges are another important product, and go into a  number of specialities such as Agua de Valencia, a cocktail of cava, orange juice, vodka and gin.

-Heritage: The historic streets of the Ciutat Vella boast many historical buildings. Among the most significant is the 15th-century Silk Exchange (Longa de la Seda), which has earned UNESCO status for its Valencian gothic architecture. The cathedral is also a must—it features a medley of gothic, renaissance and baroque architectural styles.

-Fallas: In mid-March Valencia has a traditional celebration quite unlike anything else seen in Spain. It’s the culmination of a year of effort in each neighbourhood to produce grand papier-mâché figures on a satirical theme. These are eventually incinerated at a closing party, La Cremà, but before that there are daily firework displays (La Mascletà) and a host of other events.

Weather in Patraix

Patraix holiday homes are in a Mediterranean city, with a typically warm climate. Here there’s warm or mild weather all year round. Summers begin in May and last through to at least October. Conditions during this period are usually ideal for beach trips, with daily highs between 25 and 33°C, and little by way of rain. Winters are very mild compared to the UK—even in January temperatures can get up to the mid-teens and skies tend to remain clear.

Travel to Patraix

Patraix holiday rentals are in a neighbourhood not far from Valencia’s Airport (VLC). This destination is served mainly by low-cost carriers, and there are several routes here from the UK. Visitors using cars can simply take the A-3 into the city for a drive of about 15 minutes.  By bus there’s the MetroBus  which takes 45 minutes to central Valencia, and the Aerobus, which takes 20 minutes. Valencia is also on Spain’s AVE rail network, which has high-speed links to a number of other cities. It’s possible to get here from Madrid in 90 minutes.
