Make a holiday rental villa or apartment in Oliva, Spain your home away from home

Oliva is a beach resort on the Costa del Azahar, between Valencia and the Costa Blanca. Boasting 10km of beaches, magnificent sports facilities and luxury holiday accommodation, Oliva is rapidly gaining international recognition as a world class holiday destination. Oliva manages to combine fantastic beaches, great golf and a peaceful atmosphere whilst keeping huge concrete developments at bay.

Places to holiday in Oliva, Spain

Less than an hour from Oliva is the main attraction of the Costa Blanca; Benidorm. Benidorm is completely different to Oliva, having lost much of its original charm, now standing for beach and nightlife orientated holidays. With 1000 restaurants and 30 clubs, Benidorm is always popular. Benidorm has a casino, two theme parks, a water park and many other children’s attractions, making it a great day out if you have taken an Oliva holiday rental for a family holiday.

Things to do in Oliva, Spain

Oliva is still a Spanish town first and holiday resort second, and although the facilities are excellent, leaving you wanting for nothing once in your Oliva holiday rental, shop keepers and waiters do not all speak perfect English like in many resorts. An effort to speak the language is hugely appreciated by the very hospitable locals. The nightlife is lively, and the bars stay open till late, but for more international evening entertainment, try the resort of Denia, just 15 minutes down the coast. Walking around the Oliva you will discover much about its history. The city gates, fountains, buildings, gardens and walls all tell a story, and give you an idea of how the town grew. The churches of Sta Maria and St Roc are certainly worth a visit.

The Oliva Nova Golf Club was designed by Seve Ballesteros, and has put Oliva on the golf holiday map, with golfers from across the globe rushing to take a holiday rental villa in Oliva to try their hand at this stunning 18 hole golf course in the sun. Non-members can enjoy a round and the facilities of the Oliva Nova Golf Club whilst staying in rental accommodation in Oliva, including the spa facilities.

The beaches in Oliva have been a great influence in the development of such a magnificent holiday centre. With long, wide, blue flag beaches covered in fine, golden sand, Oliva holiday rentals are in great demand, especially as there are no high rise hotels to soak up the surplus. Surprisingly, Oliva’s beaches are never crowded, even during peak season, which only adds the idyllic atmosphere. The strong prevailing winds along the coast of the Costa del Azahar has meant that water sport, especially sailing, windsurfing and kite boarding, have erupted over the years, and sports equipment can often be seen drying outside property and holiday apartments in Oliva.

Between Oliva and the Segaria Mountains is Europe’s largest subterranean lake, which has been declared a protected natural reserve. Both bird and plant life is abundant here with many migratory birds taking refuge here including variety of flamingo, stork and duck. The mountains behind the park provide a further haven for walking, climbing, hang gliding and canoeing from an Oliva villa rental.

Weather in Oliva, Spain

With 300 days of sun every year and average temperatures in summer soaring to 29˚C, the beaches of Oliva are a beautiful place to spend a few days relaxing. Even in winter, the golf courses, sporting facilities, restaurants and natural parks are great to use when staying in self catering Oliva accommodation, as average temperatures are still over 13˚C.

Flights to Oliva, Spain

Both Valencia Airport (VLC) and the El Altet International Airport (ALC) in Alicante receive daily flights from the UK. Flights take two and a half hours from the UK, and Oliva is less than two hours from either airport. Cheap flights to Oliva are provided on a number of airlines, especially the ‘no frills’ airlines like easyJet and Ryanair.

A lovely relaxing base from which to explore

5 of 5
Luis and Hermione's villa is in a great location a couple of minutes drive from the beach (20 mins walk approx) or the town and there are many places to visit within an easy drive of Oliva. The villa itself is clean, comfortable and very private surrounded by a lovely garden. The pool was great fun and gets the sun on it all day so is never cold. The villa is very well appointed and outside there is plenty of space for sitting in the shade or sunbathing. Luis and his family were lovely hosts, very thoughtful and helpful and I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wishing to stay in this area of Spain.
