  • A holiday in El Carpintero (Cabezas Bajas) can never go wrong!
    5 of 5

We had an incredible stay at Vivegredos in El Carpintero with our family of five (with 3 adult children). We selected the house based on the description and pictures on the website (vivegredos.com) and were not deceived. Everything was as it was shown on the website, but better. The house has an incredible view on the valley and is situated in a tiny and quiet village. The neighbours were fantastic (tapas, wine,...) and our host, Pilar was helping us out on everything: finding suitable restaurants, excursions or bringing fresh vegetables from the garden or cake. What does a belgian family expect from a holiday in Spain when they do not like the beaches? Friendly and authentic people, small hospitable villages (El Barco,...), Rich cultural heritage (Avila, Salamanca), Beautiful walks to high mountains seeing capricorns and vultures, a swim in the warm valley rivers or wading through ice cold and clean mountain streams, fishing, bird watching, true gastronomy: traditional tapas or cheap but good menus del dia. Nice walks starting from your doorstep? It is all there in Vivegredos. Combine this with an incredibly friendly and helpful host, a beautifully decorated house with a whole glass wall of long distance views in the living room and views of the stars in all three bedroom and you have a priceless vacation. It is our tradition to not return to the holiday houses we already visited but we will have to make an exception this time... Muchas Gracias Pilar por unas vacaciones inolvidables!!!
