Make a self catering villa or holiday rental in Navarra, Spain your home away from home

Navarra is in northern Spain and extends across from the Pyrenees which mark the border with France to include the Sierra de Aralar  and  Urbai  National Parks. Tierra Estella  is located in the southwest of the region where the Camino de Santiago monasteries, chapels and art can be found. La Ribera  is in the south of Navarra where there are prehistoric, Roman, Moorish and medieval remains. Mid-Navarra is best known for its historic monuments and olive groves. The capital city is Pamplona. The area is a popular place to enjoy Navarra holiday rentals with plenty of attractions and things to do.

Things to Do in Navarra

Navarra’s mix of landscapes gives plenty of opportunities for different outdoor activities. Horse riding, fishing and golf are popular with visitors to the area and there are some reserves for hunting. The Pyrenees are ideal for winter sports including skiing, snowboarding and adventure sports. The area is ideal for hill walking, cycling and touring by car to see the wonderful towns, cities, mountain scenery and fine museums. After dark, the restaurants around your Navarra holiday rental offer excellent menus including barbecued meat, the regional cuisine. Reasonably priced local wines make each dining experience a real pleasure.

Places to Visit in Navarra

Pamplona is best known for its bull-running festival but it has far more to offer those staying in a holiday villa in Navarra. This green city has beautiful plazas lined with historic buildings, a citadel which shows how arms were made and other cultural exhibitions, a 13th century Basilica with a Gothic cloister, a Baroque town hall and several excellent museums. Tudela is the second most important city in Navarra and is in the fertile area known as La Ribera in the Ebro Valley. Visit the Mudejar and Jewish neighborhoods, the Cathedral, 13th century bridge and the Plaza de los Fueros which has paintings of bull fights on the old walls. The city of Olite has a rich heritage as it was once home to the kings of Navarra. The Roman walls, the turreted castle of Olite, the royal chapel and the fortified palace are just some of the highlights of this lovely city.

This area of northern Spain has hot sunny summers and mild winters, making it a year-round destination. The hottest month is August when average temperatures reach 29°C (85°F). Winter days average 10-16°C (50-61°F).

Beautiful, large and well cared for Spanish home

5 of 5
Valentyna was a wonderful hostess and had made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The property is beautiful with plenty of room for the five of us. The scenery around the property was lovely and we enjoyed looking out the window in the morning to see sheep grazing opposite and the sound of the stream was very relaxing. The village was only a few minutes walk and very pretty, all the locals were welcoming. The property is in a great spot to relax and a great base for visiting other areas of interest. We also had table tennis to play, which was fun and there's a swimming pool just 5 minutes walk away, which was lovely to use at the end of a particularly hot day.

Very comfortable, well equipped villa with lovely owners

5 of 5
Had a very relaxing holiday in this beautiful villa. The villa is well appointed and the main bedroom has a large walk- in shower and the main bathroom has a shower and a bath (showers not mentioned in property info). The weather was very hot during our stay but the house remained cool. The outside areas were great; there is a large terrace overlooking the garden with views to surrounding hills and this was perfect for eating outside (there is also a large table in the kitchen if the weather is too cold to sit outside), the lower outside area has relaxing hammocks and a bbq area as well as swings/slide for younger children and a pool with safety fencing around it. The outside areas are shared with the owners Sara and David and their children - they were outside with us occasionally but the majority of the time we had the place to ourselves. Sara and David were very welcoming and gave us fresh vegetables and eggs from their garden which was fantastic! They also have a beautiful, very friendly cat who was happy to come and visit us inside the villa. They do have 2 dogs who seemed very friendly but were kept mostly in their fenced compound beside the pool. They did bark at other dogs and if we were throwing balls in the pool but that was fine. We had 2 teenage girls with us who loved the pool and the TV (they also have a playstation in the villa with lots of games). The town of Artajona is very pretty and has a butchers, fish mongers/green grocers and several small supermarket type shops to buy bread and everyday provisions. It also has an amazing fort on the top with spectacular views. The large supermarket is about 10 miles drive away. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for families with and without children.
